Introduction
This chapter starts with the definition and conceptualization of home financing and overview
of the relationship between behavioural intention and actual usage. Previous related
literatures leading to the development of the theoretical framework and empirical findings
relating to each construct will be explored. Then, this chapter reviews the related
underpinning theories as the basis of this study. Particularly, literature concerning actual use,
behavioural intention, attitude and the antecedents (i.e. perceived usefulness, perceived ease
of use, compatibility, perceived image, personal innovativeness and perceived enjoyment),
subjective norm (i.e. friends, family and media), perceived behavioural control (i.e. selfefficacy, resource facilitating condition and technology facilitating conditions) and perceived
risk (i.e. perceived security and perceived privacy) will be reviewed. Finally, the chapter also
illustrates the research framework and discuss the proposed hypotheses formulated in this
study.
