TUSTIN — In a first-of-its-kind outreach to Californians, Meg Whitman this week is mailing policy
magazines to half a million California homes explaining in detail what she will do as governor.

Thousands of additional copies of Meg’s 48-page plan, “Building A New California”, already have
been distributed to nearly 1,400 libraries across California and mailed to leading public policy
advocates, TV and radio stations and chambers of commerce.

On Monday, Meg stopped by The Monaco Group, the Tustin-based business that’s printing her plan.
Alongside the printers, Meg helped bundle and wrap them for mailing.

Then, inside the company’s warehouse, Meg met with at least 100 supporters and workers, and
detailed her plan to spark hiring immediately with job-creating tax cuts.

With the hum of the printing presses in the background, Meg described how she would take a
focused approach to fixing California’s problems, starting with restoring the economy and creating
jobs.

“I am a big believer in plans and specificity,” Meg told the crowd. “This election is too important --
people need to know my plan and they need to know exactly the specifics of how we’re going to
get California back on track.”

In contrast, likely Democratic nominee Jerry Brown has offered no plan and few specifics, Meg said
-- even though he told voters weeks ago that he would.

“I don’t know whether we can trust someone who doesn’t actually deliver on his promise to be
specific,” Meg said. “This is the contrast I hope to create – a road map, a plan, something very
tangible versus the same-old politics as usual.”

Meg’s vision for creating jobs includes ending the $800 start-up tax that Californians must pay to
start a business, eliminating the capital gains and factory taxes, increasing research and
development tax credits and creating a green-jobs tax credits and other measures that will
encourage businesses to invest and start hiring Californians.

Chris Bryan of Los Angeles said once voters see Meg’s plan he expects many to choose her vision
for the state.
“So many voters are disillusioned with the political process because it’s all vague promises. What
Meg’s doing here today at this printing plant is sending out a detailed plan backing up the claims
she has made,” Bryan said. “And you just don’t see that from other candidates.”
