Similarities between Pakistani Politicians and Wild Dogs

TALE OF TAILS
The period under review began with lot of hue and cry amongst the
community of politicians about tails. Although this debate revealed nothing new,
yet in their exuberance to participate, the politicians inadvertently made many
confessions about themselves. The most interesting confession was that politicians
also have tails.
All living beings on this planet have tails of one form or the other. Only
human beings have no tail and instead have only a tail bone. This is because
according to Darwin the human beings are advanced product of his evolution
theory. However, Pakistani politicians have confessed that they do have tails that
makes them different from common human beings. In other words, they still
belong to animal world instead of human beings.
Tail is indeed a useful part of animals body, but it has an in-built drawback.
When an animal is resting and someone steps onto his tail, it hurts. Animals
obviously react violently to such stepping onto their tails; especially the beasts like
dogs. They scream or bark and at times even bite; therefore one must remain
vigilant and avoid stepping onto the tail of a dog or a politician.
There is vast variety of beasts that fall in the category of dogs. The politicians
are quite similar to wild dogs which live and hunt in packs. They usually eat far
more than their appetite and by virtue of that they become carriers of food which
they gurgle out for their off-springs on reaching their dens. Once a wild dog rests
after a tiresome routine of hunting, over-eating, carrying and gurgling out the food,
if someone steps on his tail it hurts badly and the reaction is correspondingly
violent.
In the ongoing turf war, one finds that most of the politicians of major
political parties (or packs) are either screaming or barking. They have not yet
resorted to biting primarily because the feel on their tail is not of an ordinary foot.
To them it is seems a foot wearing a boot; old fashioned leather-sole boot with
studs or nails.
Resultantly, they have preferred not to scream or bark and instead produce
noise with their nostrils raised skyward. This is called howling. It is said that dogs
howl when they see some scary things in their imagination. What is scary for
politicians? One does not have to scratch ones head to find the right answer. Many
politicians has however started barking at each other on mere suspicion, despite a

written agreement titled Charter of Democracy that strictly forbids them to do

that.
Dogs have some other idiosyncrasies about their tails. At times dogs start
spinning around as if trying to catch their own tails; perhaps they want to scratch
the irritating tails which might have been hurt in the past. It is for this reason that
some pet-owners get the tails of the puppies chopped off and even their ears are
cut.
Political parties (packs) too have dogs with their tails and ears chopped off.
These dogs are meant for fighting as dogs sans tails and ears have less chances of
getting those body parts injured which they cannot lick to disinfect their wounds.
One encounters this variety of dogs on TV screens during prime time shows in
which the subject of corruption is discussed.
The dogs are also known for wagging their tails. Its a gesture often seen
during expectation of a favour from or as an expression of gratitude to their
masters. Some politicians excel in this despite their tails remain invisible to a
common man as they wag their entire body for this purpose.
They are also known for tucking their tails in between their hind legs as
expression of submission. In this context the masters from distant lands are
favourites of politicians. Why? The rewards of such submission are very high as
could be seen from the US and British lawmakers swarming to prevent extradition
of Sharjeel Memon, a faithful of Zardari.
Indeed, the faithfulness of dogs is proverbial. Bullhay Shah was impressed by
this character quality of dogs when he exclaimed: naeen tay bazi ley gaey kutty.
The faithfulness of dogs and politicians however begins and ends at the door of
their worldly masters.
When a feudal lord commits this crime, the real beast behind this act of
brutality is the lord himself, not his dog. It is this community of beasts that has
been perpetually let loose at general public by the Lady Democracy known for her
beauty. They leash themselves voluntarily only for few days prior to elections.
There are three more character traits brutality, vulgarity and greed which
do not relate to tail but are worth mention. One often hears that a feudal lord
unleashed his dogs at someone to inflict upon him the canine brutality. It must be
remembered that the feudal class is the main source that produces politicians; the
basic material of democratic system.
Vulgarity is another common trait amongst dogs and politicians. Recently, a
ceremony was held in PM House in connection with a documentary film during
which it was proclaimed that ghairat (ego) has no place in Islam. A few days

prior to that MQMs London-based chief in his telephonic sermon had educated an
audience of men and women of his party about uglier aspects of sex.
The dogs greed is also proverbial and so is that of politicians. Whereas a dog
loses his bone because of greed, the politicians on the other hand accumulate
billions when their greed is manifested in the form of corruption. The lust of
corruption is more pronounced when politicians manage reach corridors of power,
where in mortuary called exchequer the bones of masses are collected.
The present regime and its predecessor have plundered public money with
such a greed and appetite that they must have put the dogs to shame. There is a
long list of plundering sprees and recently the pack in power had a hunting trip to
Qatar. While securing a mega deal of LNG the pack had forgotten altogether the
consequences of its greed.
