1. Pre-requisite:
Basic knowledge in Engineering drawing, Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials and
Material Science.
2. Course Objectives:
This Course aims to give the Knowledge about the structure of a vehicle. The Course covers the
Topics such as different body layouts, materials used in body construction, importance of
aerodynamics, aesthetics for the exterior and interiors of the vehicle also provides basic knowledge
about the Alternate energy systems for a Vehicle.
3. Course Outcome:
Upon the successful completion of the course, the students should be able to
a) Describe the various body layouts, Materials used in body constructions like composite
materials, GRP, FRP etc.
b) Know the importance of Aerodynamics.
c) Understand the Vehicle ergonomics to provide at most comfortable position for driver and
passenger.
d) Explain the structural analysis, load distribution, types of vehicle body construction.
