Founders Message

he allure of Tagaytay Highlands has endured through time. It has remained the
premier mountain resort destination in the Philippines for more than two decades,
and offers a lifestyle that is as limitless as its community.

Known for its cool and heavenly breeze, peaceful environment, and picturesque views,
Tagaytay Highlands is not merely an escape from the citys hustle and bustle. It is a haven to
rediscover the pleasures of life.
Staying true to our commitment of providing world-class services and recreational facilities,
we continuously enhance our club facilities and develop innovative residential communities
to protect your investment. And to maintain Tagaytay Highlands prestige as one of the
most exclusive mountain resorts in the country, we have upgraded our security fleet for
stronger safety measures and unparalleled privacy.
We also recently welcomed six new developments: Nob Hill, a community of eco-friendly
homes in the Greenlands; Sycamore Heights, an exclusive sanctuary in the Midlands with a
majestic view of the Taal Lake and Volcano; Aspenhills, a modern ranch-style lodge home
development located at one of the highest hilltops of the Highlands; Katsura and Yume, the
two Japanese communities offering a Zen lifestyle; and The Woodridge Places Linden and
Mahogany Towers, which are elegant Colorado-inspired condominiums that offer the lockup-and-leave convenience of condominium living.
Tagaytay Highlands is more than a community made of houses; it is a home made of
communities.
To our dear members, thank you for the continued support and patronage.
Welcome home.

GMs Message
The new year came in like a normal day for Tagaytay Highlands as if there is no such thing as an end
of a year for us. Business goes on as usual. Its because we are busy laying out and executing plans
and events for our dear members and guests, and much like our commitment to providing quality
service and amenities, it also has no end. 2015 ended with event-packed December such as the 18th
Presidents Cup, the Christmas Party for Kids, the Highlands String Festival, the Christmas and
Pasalubong Bazaars, the Feast of the Holy Family Chapel, the 7th Asian Ladies Invitational Interport
Golf Tournament, and the New Years Countdown.
2016 started in a festive mood as the Club celebrated the Feast of the Madre de Dios Chapel. The
Club also just launched three new recreational facilities at the Sports Center: the Sporting Arrow, the
Oxboard Maze, and the Pedal Go Kart. Watch out also for new ones coming out early summer. We
also celebrated Chinese New Year and Valentines Day, andhosted the Philippine Ladies Open. Soon,
well have our Holy Week observance and another grand golf tournament, the 16th Belle Cup, to
facilitate. Try also our new offerings at our premier dining outlets. And the list goes on.
We have many more in store for our members and guests this year so plan your visit to the Club
because there will be a lot things happening here that you definitely dont want to miss!

agaytay Highlands hosted the 7th year of the Asian Ladies Interport held
in country. Participated by contingents from Brunei Darussalam, Republic
of Indonesia, The Federation of Malaysia, The Philippines, Republic of
Singapore and The Kingdom of Thailand, it was the biggest season-ender golf
event for the Womens Golfers Association of the Philippines (WGAP). Malaysia
sent the largest delegation with 40 lady-golfers in total attendance. The Philippine
Team won the title at a total team score of 1429. Runners-up were Thailand at
1457 and Singapore at 1462. The countrys top contenders were led on scores
by Eden Hernandez (140), Therese Dabao (141), Gilda Medestomas (141),
Rio Co (142) and Abby Lapid (143). Clubs very own Farrah Imperial won the
6-Man Scramble title at 62 with the joint multinational team of Pla Pornprapha,
Angelina Benjamin, Minerva Castillo, Euis Peti Sopiati and Lyn Yeo.
Highlands chefs prepared a sumptuous feast for the ladies. Their day started
with the Sisters of Mary Rondalla Band greeting the delegation as they descend
to a funicular ride highlighting the natural beauty of the Philippines. Their last
day was even merrier with Banda Kawayans performances as they dance and
celebrate their winnings and camaraderie in the game. Special thanks to Club
Members Ghie Bote and Connie Mamaril, organizers Ms. Marissa Romano and
Ms. Anna Haurie for making the event truly successful.

Highlander Steakhouse. New wine
enthusiasts may be enticed to try

the outlets wine cellar as matched
with some selected cuisine. Fancy a
drink? Let us explore the myriad of
taste. Salut!

The Whites
Always refreshing, white wines suggest for a relaxed afternoon wine sipping or even a hearty summer al fresco
luncheon. Try Les Fondettes Sancerre Sauvion 2009 from France. Sancerre is a small wine district in central France,
famous for its crisp, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc. This light-bodied fragrant dry white has aromas of broom plant, acacia
and boxtree and very popular for its finesse and elegance. It is best paired with an assortment of grilled seafood.

WINE PAIRINGS

Now how about a Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc 2012 from New Zealand? Marlborough is by far New Zealands most
important wine region. Situated at the northeastern tip of the South Island, this dry, sunny region produces around threequarters of all New Zealand wine. It is particularly famous for its pungent, zesty Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Derived from
the French word sauvage (wild) and blanc (white) the wine is both crisp and powerful. This well-balanced wine has intense
aromas of gooseberry, passion fruit and citrus flavors. This classic light to medium-bodied aromatic wine is perfect with
Lobster Thermidor.

The Reds
It is a must for all dinner parties. Red wines create warmth and elegance to the evening. Turn ordinary nights to special dinner
moments with family and loved ones. Order a bottle of Tyrrells Pinot Noir 2011, Old Winery from Australia. The continentstate has long been at the forefront of the New World wine renaissance. With a highly dedicated and professional industry
based on research and development, both Australia and the global wine industry have benefited from the technological
advancements in wine-growing made by organizations such as the Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI). This offers
a dry light-bodied red wine with countless cherry & strawberry undertones; soft but with generous style of berries and
mushroom hints. On the palate, it is rich and fruity with smooth tannins. Highly recommended with delicately flavored white
meats like chicken and pork and specially best paired with Cornish Hen.

Finally, pour some Haut Medoc Chateau De Lamarque

2005 from France. Haut-Medoc is the large southern
section of the greater Medoc district of Bordeaux
in south-western France and also the name of the
appellation that covers the vineyards. A superb wine
of an impressive plum and cassis nose with wellintegrated new oak is a good definition on the palate
with moderate tannins and good finish. Best paired
with red meats cooked in medium style like the Angus
Rib-eye.

Adding to their menus are six new amazing dishes that you

meal, is from Toscana. Nubs of earthy, sweet pumpkin mash
served with a creamy blue cheese sauce for a balance of flavor.
The other is the Fettuccini Negra with Shrimps and Salami.

Some things are hard to do well. White pizza is one of them.

Tomato sauce-less pizza can be delicious, but it is really
difficult to pull off. Good thing that the people from Toscana
are just experts in making pizza. Their Pizza Bianco looks
good in all of its white, cheesy glory. A thin-crust pizza
topped with thin, crisp slices of Fuji apple and four cheeses;
mozzarella, parmesan, blue cheese, white/cream cheese; you
get tastes of sweet, salty, and tartness all in one bite.

The Club exudes nothing less but exhilarating views. Situated
on the end of the Tagaytay Ridge below Mt. Sungay, Tagaytay
Highlands location is strategic to enjoy several scenic
wonders. As one descend from the main gates on a clear day,
the eastern horizon beckons with the stately twin peaks of the
Mt. Makiling and Mt Banahaw and the lush Highlands Golf
Course on the foreground. Morning grandeur emanates a
sense of wonder at every sunrise as light breaks the distance.
Gaze further, Laguna de Bay waters glisten from afar with
every move of the sun, wind and clouds. On its southwestern
side, the majestic mountains of Batangas countryside, the Taal
Lake and Volcano dominated the scene. Particularly in late
afternoon, the soft blues and golden hues are in full splendor.
At dusk, one will marvel on the night-lights surrounding
the 1,290-hectare complex. Standing from the Highlander
Steakhouse, the metro skyline on the northeastern is dazzling
with the sparkling glows of urban life. Where else can you
enjoy this in just one day?

Araucaria Pines. Have you been at The Woodlands?
Decades-old pine trees dominated the expanse of the
most exclusive village inside the Club. Colossal riprap
rock walls lined the main avenue as one descends
further. With the adjacent vine covered walls of the
Pinecrest Village, these are favorite spots for prenuptial shoots. Local and foreign blooms are scattered
from the gates, roadside and within the multitude
of gardens and walks at The Country Club and The

the grounds. They remain their presence as ordered by
natural design.
