Registration:
• Register your child at www.gavilance.com. To register for Robots vs. Aliens, G Force

register with Destination Science at www.destinationscience.org or call them at 888-909-2822.
• Registration must be in the name of the child.
• These classes are for Enrichment only and are NOT for college or K-12 credit.
• Sign your child up for the grade level they will be entering in Fall. No transfers if parent
enrolls child in wrong grade level.
• No cancellations or transfers permitted within 3 days of the first day of class (see cancel-
lation policy on pg., 33). Note: The refund policy for Destination Science Camps states
that requests received 30 or more days prior to the start of the enrolled camp session will
be refunded all fees minus a $40 processing fee. Transfers between sessions & locations are
permitted if space is available.
• Students must be under 18 to attend College for Youth Classes.
Safety:
• Children under 13 not allowed on campus unattended or unsupervised.
• Be sure you and your children know where their classroom is located. Young children
should not be dropped off in the parking lot.
• If your child is sick while on campus, you will be contacted immediately to pick up your child.
• Please call the Community Education office at (408) 852-2801 to report absences. You will
not be contacted if your child is absent.
• Please arrange for your child to be picked up immediately after class at the classroom door.
Behavior:
• Students are not allowed to attend classes in which they are not officially enrolled.
• Students must be able to follow directions independently or in a group. If a student is
disruptive to the learning process he or she may be dropped from his/her class without
refund.

Destination Science, The Ultimate Camp Experience teachers are quali-
fied and caring teachers who base class activities on critical science concepts
defined by the National Science Standards.
For Designation Science camps, cancellations received 30 or more days

Develop skills for the 21st century at your own pace and
on your own time. LERN is an international association of
lifelong learning programming, offering information and
resources to providers of lifelong learning programs and to
students. Sally Klauss, MBA, has an extensive background in
management, employee training and development, total quality
management and business.
Orientation is scheduled one week before class and it is
recommended for those who have not taken an online class before. It is designed to help
new students know what to expect and provide tips for successfully participating in an
online class.
Class Structure: These are asynchronous classes so you may access and participate any-
time of the day or night. You will receive weekly lessons that will be available through
the remainder of the class. Minimum recommended time for the class activities is 4 hours
per week over the 4 or 8-week classes.

In order to work as a Paralegal in California, students must complete both the Paralegal
Training Program, CORE and 6 online Advanced Paralegal Training Program Courses.
Successful graduates of both the Paralegal Training Program, Core and at least 6 online
Advanced Paralegal Training Program courses will be awarded a Certificate of Recognition
from Gavilan College, Community Education. To receive a Certificate, students must pass
twelve quizzes and successfully complete five legal document writing assignments. This
Certificate of Recognition provides an individual with the acknowledgment that he or she
has achieved the level of professional knowledge and competency necessary to work within
the legal field, and it is designed to satisfy the requirements of California Business Profes-
sionals Code §6450. Certificates will be mailed to successful graduates within 4 to 6 weeks
of completion of each course.
