will appear on the HPS Junior Standings List. The HPS Junior Standings List is a “rolling rankings” that calculates the previous 12

COMMENTS
¾ Align the New PPR Table with the National Ranking Point Table (NRPT), Midwest, and Middle States Section Point Table
¾ The New PPR Table follows the NRPT and:
Adds a column for HPS Open tournaments (similar to the Midwest Section Point Table Level 6 events and Middle States Point Table Level 6
and 7)
Does not include points for other National Level 1 and 2 events (many sections allows points for National Level events)
Rankings are based upon best 6 singles events and 15% of the best 3 doubles events (National uses 15%; ITF uses 25% of doubles events)
¾ Standardize the draw format for all USTA HPS tournaments:
HPS tournaments draws are small; we need a standard format to assure players get a minimum of two matches for each tournament played
Either two singles matches (guaranteed consolation) or singles + doubles match
Minimum tournament draw size is set at 3
Eliminates the rarely used main draw with modified consolation format
Assures that every player will have the opportunity to play a consolation round for FIC format (draw size of 5 with FIC Quarterfinals creates
the exception that a 1st round loser will not have a consolation match)
Assures that the FIC Champion will not earn more points than the 4th place finisher (draw size of less than 8 with FIC Quarterfinals creates
the exception where the 4th place finisher could earn zero points while the FIC Champion earns points)
Like the NRPT and the Midwest Section Point Table, match results in a higher age division will count down to the younger age division (this
allows players to play up and provides tournament directors with the flexibility to encourage players to play up when an age division does
not meet the minimum draw size of 3)
Standardized Draw Formats for Tournaments with FIC (players assured to play two rounds)
Draw size 2 = Tournament directors should encourage players to play up
Draw size 3 = Round robin format
Draw size 4 = Consolation match for 3rd and 4th place
5 ≤ Draw size < 8 = Draw with FIC Semifinals (prevents exceptions)
8 ≤ Draw size = Draw with FIC Quarterfinals
Players who lose their first Main Draw match are fed into the following round of a Feed-In Championship:
16 Draw Size: FIC QF Qualifying
32 Draw Size: FIC R16 Qualifying
64 Draw Size: FIC R32 Qualifying
128 Draw Size: FIC R64 Qualifying
256 Draw Size: FIC R128 Qualifying
