Lysergic

Acid Amides
Wonderful Discovery; Plant
Sources of LSA:

In 1959, the ethnobotanist Richard Schultes sent samples of a

cultivated Mexican morning
glory, Turbina corymbosa, to Albert Hoffman, the discoverer of
LSD. Schultes had seen it used
by a Zapotec shaman. In 1960,
Hoffman analyzed the seeds and
said they contained ergot-like alkaloids. This was hard for people
to believe since previously such
chemicals had only been found
in the rye fungus Claviceps purpurea (ergot). But Hoffman was
right; the seeds contained d-

lysergic acid amide. This differs

from LSD only in that it has a
NH2 where LSD has a
N(C2H5)2, but LSD is some 50
to 100 times as potent. The
morning glory Turbina corymbosa's seeds also have other psychoactive alkaloids in them: disolysergic acid amide, chanoclavine, elymoclavine, and lysergol.
In 1960, Don Thomes MacDougall reported that seeds of
another morning glory, Ipomoea

violacea were used as sacraments by certain Zapotecs,

sometimes with the Turbina corymbosa seeds and sometimes
not. This morning glory species
is the one with familiar varieties
in America: Heavenly Blue,
Pearly Gates, Flying Saucers,
Blue Star, Summer Skies and
Wedding Bells.The Ipomoea
violacea has the same psychoactive compounds in it except with
ergometrine instead of lysergol.
Ergometrine has strong uterusstimulating properties so it's a

really bad idea for pregnant

women to eat these seeds. Also,
these seeds are supposed to be
bad for people with liver problems (e.g. jaundice, hepatitus).
These seeds are called badoh negro down in South America,
since they are black, and some
people think these were the mysterious tlitliltzin, which is the
Nahuatl word for "black" with a
reverential suffix.

Indications and Dosage

(LSA (ergine) is 1/10th as Potent as LSD-25 by weight):

Threshhold
0.2 mg
Common
0.5- 1.5 mg
Strong
1.5 - 4.0 mg
Heavy
4.0 mg
Do Not Dose
More Than 4.0mg

Onset: 2 Hours or so to peak.

Duration : 10 - 14 hours
Normal After Effects : up to 24
1 MG (I. violacea) seed has
about 0.01mg LSA.
1 HBWR seed has about
0.25mg LSA
WARNING: Has uterusstimulating properties. DO NOT
USE IF PREGNANT!

NOTE: Ergine: to get 1 good "

Hit"* we need 100ug x 10 =
1mg ergine
(ergine is 1/10 potency of
LSD). Thus we need 1.36 g of
MG seeds (~100 seeds)
for one good hit, or 0.74 grams
of HBWR seeds (~4 seeds).
*1960's LSD was on average
100ug per hit.
"I would agree, if you state that
200ug of LSD is the fully hallucinogenic dose, the 5 HBWR in-

gested was really close to

100-125ug. I agree that each
seed is equal to 25ug of LSD.
I would make the comparison
between HBWR and Morning
Glory, the same as I would ALD52, and LSD-25. The HBWR
was much less somatically intoxicating and not speedy.
Based on this experience, I
would project that 8 seeds would
be a good trip, and 10-12 would
be a "rock and roll trip"... and

14-16 would be "intense as hell,"

but possibility of alkaloid effects."

Note: the MG shell contains cyanogenic glycosides which can
make you really sick if you eat
enough (same kind of stuff in
apple seeds) use an extraction

NOTE: 1 HBWR seed has

about 0.25mg LSA
HBWR: To dose, you don't
have to remove all the shell,
but just the dark-brown" stuff
off loosely on the seed. Then

use the following method:

Grind the seeds up or crush
really well. Then soak the
crushed/ground seeds in purified water for about 24 hours.
After the 24 hours, strain off
the seed mass from the liquid
using pantyhose, a sieve,
cheesecloth, or if nothing else is
available a coffee filter.
Then to dose, drink the "tea"
very slowly over a period of 2040 minutes, and either drink a
small glass of water, or a few

large "gulps" after each sip of

the "tea." This process removes the "toxins" and reduces or negates the nausea
sometimes associated with taking LSA containing seeds.
Note: the fuzzy "dark-brown"
coating on the outside contains
cyanogenic glycosides which
can make you really sick if you
eat enough (same kind of stuff
in apple seeds).

NOTE: You MUST use cold

purified water for this process.
Tap water contains chemicals
that break down the desired
alkaloids. Hot water also does
this.
