TECHNO-COMMERCIAL PROPOSAL FOR 450 KLD EFFLUENT TREATMENT PLANT

Following are the few salient features of our offer:

1. Our offer is for Design, Detailed engineering, submission of detailed arch. General
arrangement drawings, Civil Construction, Supply of Electro mechanical Units &
Equipments, Erection and Commissioning.
2. Our technical proposal consists of Physical, Chemical and biological treatment process to
treat 450 KLD of effluent.
3. Proposed biological treatment is anaerobic followed by aerobic system i.e., UASB and ASP.
We proposed anaerobic system followed by BT and ASP to minimize Power consumption.
4. We considered standby arrangements for pumps, blowers etc. to ensure continuous and
smooth plant operation.
5. For disinfection of treated Effluent we proposed Chlorination system.
6. At the time of detailed engineering, based on site conditions, location, technology and
other parameters there may be small changes/modifications in the process, sizes &
volumes of civil units, change of capacities or drives of electro mechanical equipments etc.
for the betterment of treatment process.

7. Following are the assumptions we have considered while preparing the offer and any
change may affect civil costing:

Inlet to first unit is by gravity at NGL-0.00 or by pump

Water, electricity, access road for heavy vehicle available to proposed ETP site.
Soil Bearing Capacity is not less than 25 Tons/M2
Soil type is not black cotton or loose. Water table is below 30 meters. No bailing of
water is required while excavation or no pile foundation required while construction.
Soil type is not rocky or very hard and blasting not required.
Suitable place is available for extra excavated soil for disposal near 50 meters lead.

II)

Good quality of treated water.

Under any circumstances stringent pollution control norms are met.
No threat for disposal.
To keep the environment clean & free from contamination.
In future, it is pre- requisite for ISO 14001 Certification / other appreciations.
Minimal electricity consumption, less chemical consumption with low
Operation & maintenance cost and less space.
Save the mother earth for future generations and fulfill social obligations.

PROCESS DESIGN
The process design involves Physical, Chemical and Biological processes.
PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROCESS
Screening, Collection, Equalization, Neutralization, Clarification, Drying.
BIOLOGICAL PROCESS
Converting organic pollutant into harmless by-products with the help of Anaerobic and
Aerobic Microorganisms.
Flow sheet is enclosed for ready reference.
PROPOSED TREATMENT PROCESS SCHEME
Effluent coming from the factory shall be first screened through bar screen chamber.
Over from screen chamber collected in Oil & Scum removal tank. Mechanically Oil &
Scum shall be scraped from Oil & Scum removal tank. By gravity effluent over flow is
collected in Collection cum Equalisation Tank. Floating mixer shall be provided at
equalisation tank for mixing of effluents. From this unit effluent is transferred to Buffer
tank by pump. At Buffer tank suitable chemical solutions are added to neutralise the
effluent. From buffer tank effluent is sent to UASB by pumping. At buffer tank floating
mixer shall be provided for mixing.

BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT
UASB SYSTEM
From buffer tank effluent shall be pumped to Up flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket Digester
(UASB). Major part of organic load shall be removed here. The anaerobic organisms will
degrade the high concentrated organic matter present in the effluent. In this digester
bacterial granules will be formed which is used as a medium for attachment of
microorganisms, which will in turn convert the complex organic matter into simple
compounds like methane gas, CO2 & H2O. On top of the digester-Gas Liquid Solid
separation system shall be provided.
Gas separately collected in Gas Holder and send to Boiler as a fuel. Excess gas will be
flared with Gas flare system. Necessary safety devises and instrumentation shall be
provided for UASB reactor. The overflow from UASB is sent to the Bio- tower-I.
BIO- TOWERS
Bio tower-I, II have designed as a roughening tower for organic matter reduction from
the influent. Bio tower is constructed with civil columns and beam supports. Bio tower
is filled with PVC structured Bio fill media. The overflow effluent from the UASB, is fed
to the top of the bio tower-I by gravity. At bio tower-I recirculation pumps are
provided to recirculate the effluent from bottom sump to top of the tower to maintain
the surface overflow rate required for the media. The media attached micro-organisms
will degrade the organic matter as BOD in the effluent. One part of the effluent from
recycling feed line is collected at the top of the Bio tower-II. Recycling pumps are also
provided at BT-II for recirculation and also transfer effluent to next unit i.e., Aeration
Tank. Excess biomass on the Bio-tower plastic media is automatically removed due to
the recirculation flow.

ASP SYSTEM
Activated Sludge Process comprises of Aeration tank followed by Secondary Clarifier,
which are, proposed to meet the requirements. In aeration tank organic load as BOD will
be degraded with the help of cultivated microbial culture. Constant Mixed Liquor
Suspended Solids (MLSS) will be maintained in aeration tank in definite proportions by
recycling the bio sludge trapped by the secondary clarifier. At aeration tank air is
supplied from air blower to supply oxygen for the microorganisms.

Recycling of bio-sludge from secondary clarifier will be done by non-clog, centrifugal,

semi open type continuous duty & suitable capacity sludge re circulation pump. The
overflow from secondary clarifier is collected in chlorine contact tank.
CHLORINE CONTACT TANK
In chlorine contact tank chlorine dosing system is provided to disinfect the harmful
pathogens present in water. Disinfected water from this unit is transferred to Dual
media filter by pumping.
DUAL MEDIA FILTER
As pre-treatment unit Dual Media filter (DMF) is provided before Activated Carbon
Filter. The effluent is pumped to DMF to remove suspended particles, turbidity. DMF is
in MS-EP construction with top and bottom dished ends. Operation of the DMF is
Manual.
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER
Activated carbon filter shall be provided for reduction of Odor, smell & removal of
chlorine. ACF will have activated carbon granules and water will be passed through this
media. Odor and color will be trapped in the media.
SLUDGE TREATMENT
Excess sludge from Secondary clarifier shall be collected on Sludge Drying Beds for
sludge dewatering manually. Dewatered and dried sludge cakes shall be used as good
manure or for secured land filling.
