I- Title:

Nutrition Month Celebration

II-Theme: Timbang iwasto sa tamang nutrisyon at ehersisyo


III-Focus: The celebration focuses on the overweight and obesity of most of the children and adults
especially here in St. Ritas College of Balingasag. It aims to increase awareness on the role and
importance of proper nutrition and physical activity in the prevention of overweight and obesity
among children.
IV-Objectives:
1. To recognize the importance of healthy lifestyle.
2. To promote awareness to students the proper nutrition and encourage them to make positive
decisions towards consumption of healthy diets.
3. To develop fully their skills and creativity and apply it at home.
V-Target Date: July 1-31
VI-Order of Activities
1. Cleanest Classroom
a. This contest is intended for high school students. There will be two categories; Category C
for Grade 7 and Grade 8 and category D for Grade 9 and Grade 10.
b. The classroom must be clean inside and out. 5s is observed and maintain.
c. There should be discipline and order inside the classroom.

2. Informative Bulletin board ( Classroom/Clubs)


a. This contest is intended for high school classes and clubs.
b. For classroom bulletin boards, there will be two categories; Category C and Category D.
c. Informative and creativity in constructing the bulletin boards should be based on the theme
given.
d. Judging will be done on 2nd Wednesday and last Wednesday of the month of July 2014.

3. Poster-slogan contest Using MS Paint
Committee: Arts Club, Mr. Rico Jay Palamine and Ms. Sushmita Agbong
a. This contest is intended for high school. (two Categories)
b. There will be (1) representative for each section.
c. Each contestant should draw/paint based on the theme given.
d. The participant will used the paint in the computer.
e. The venue will be at the high school laboratory.

4. Essay Writing Contest
Committee: Newsletter and Mae Ann D. Bagtasos
a. This contest is for high school ( Category C and Category D)
b. There will be 1 representative for each section.
c. During the contest proper, contestants will be given a topic and must write ideas about it
based on the theme given.
d. They will be given 1 hour to write their thoughts and ideas (100-500 words only). If they
exceed or lack number of words a deduction of points will be given. (one point per word)
e. They must write legibly and clearly.

5. Daily Trivia
Committee: TLE/Comp. teachers
a. This contest is open to all Basic education students. There will be two categories. Category C
for Grade 7 and Grade 8, Category D for Grade 9 and Grade 10.
b. This trivia is about nutrition and healthy lifestyle. It will be presented twice in a week. Two
questions in one week for every category. First question will be read by Monday and will be
drawn on Wednesday.
c. Trivia ticket will be bought at P.99 each. Entries should be dropped on the designated drop
boxes.
d. Questions will be read every Monday and Wednesday. Questions will be drawn by
Wednesday and questions on Wednesday will be drawn by Friday.
e. All entries by first week up to last day of the trivia will be drawn for grand draw winners
during the culminating activity.

6. Nutri-tula
Committee: Filipino/AP teachers
a. This contest is for high school. There will be two Categories (category C and Category D)
b. There will be 1 representative in every section.
c. The students will compose a poem based on the theme given. The poem must be of 4 stanza
and 4 lines.
d. Participants will be given 1 hour to make their poem.

7. Nutri-Quizz

a. This contest is open to all high school students. There will be two categories. (Category C
and D)
b. There will be 3 participants from each section.
Date: July 20, 2015
Time: 4:15-5:15pm(Thursday)
Venue: Classroom
8. Ampalaya Cooking Contest
Committee: High School Teachers
a. This contest is for Category C and and Category D.
b. This cooking contest gives the avenue to challenge students to become creative and
innovative.
c. Participants must bring their own ingredients and they are given specific time for the mise en
place and specific time for the cooking proper.
Rules for the competition
1. Each team must consist of 5 members.
2. Rules on Ampalaya Cooking contest will be the basis of assessment of enries.
3. Submitted recipes will be the basis for judging.
4. Participants must prepare one dish and use ampalaya as the main ingredient for the recipe.
5. All items to be brought must be within the designated competition are before the start of
competition.
6. Participants must bring their own tools, knives, pots, pans, small electric or mechanical tools
or any special equipment.
7. Work places will be set up by organizing team.
8. Participants should bring their own stove with open gas burners.
9. The participants will be given 2 hours to cook. Every team should have one plate of dish for
tasting and one plate for presentation of dish.
10. All team will be instructed by the designated coordinator as to their starting time. The team
will be instructed to dish out / present their dishes five to ten minutes interval to give enough
time for the judges to evaluate the entries. All dishes must be made on the spot.
11. The kitchen area is off limit to all contestant escorts.

10. Table Setting for TWO Centerpiece set-ups ( live competition team of 4)
Vintage Style
Committee: TLE teachers and dramatic club and Arts club
Each team is to set up a table setting for 4 persons and to arrange a centerpiece on-the-spot
within the limit of 1 hour. Each team must have its own table for the table set-up.
Rules of the competition:
1. Each team is composed of (4) contestants.
2. This contest is open to all high school students. There will be two categories. Category C for
grade 7 and Grade 8 and Category D for Grade 9 and Grade 10.
3. Contestant must be in black and white t-shirt
4. No walls, no ceiling and or back drops are allowed.
5. Centerpiece must be arranged on-the-spot during the time provided.

11. Food Display Contest
Each sections from Grade 7-10 must prepare and display food in creative way. Each
section must provide their own tables and other materials for the said contest.
Rules of the Competition:
a. The contest is open to all basic education students. There will be two categories
Cateogory c for grade 7 & 8, category D for grade 9 & 10.
b. Set up/ display the different varieties of food must be arranged on the spot during the
time provided from 8:00-10:00 am.
c. The theme of the food display is Fiesta sa Nayon.
