Pattern Notes
There is a graph included with this pattern. Work the odd numbered rows from Right to Left, and even
numbered rows from Left to Right. Odd numbered rows are the Right Side (RS) and even numbered
rows are the Wrong Side (WS) of your project.
It's important to note here, that in this pattern a block consists of 3 dc in all, the last dc of the last sp
counting as the first dc of the block. Two blocks consist of 5 dc, 3 blocks consist of 7 dc, 4 blocks
consist of 9 dc, 5 blocks consist of 11 dc, etc.

Front Panel
Ch 38
Row 1: Dc into 6th ch from hook (makes your first sp), continue across row by making 1 ch, skipping a
ch and working 1 dc into the following ch (for each sp) so that at the end of the row you have 17 sps.

Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1 on this and every row), continue making sps across row same as you
did in row 1.
Row 3: (Begin working from chart now) Ch 4, then work 5 sps over the first 5 sps in the previous row,
making them exactly the same way as before. Now make the first block by working 1 dc into the next
space (sp) and a dc into the next dc (you've made your first block), work 5 sps (over the next 5 sps),
make a block (by working 1 dc into the next sp and a dc into the next dc), work 5 more sps. The last dc
of the last sp should always be worked into the 3rd ch of the turning ch. (15sps, 2 blocks)
Rows 4 15: Continue working from chart. At end of Row 15 Fasten off.

Back Sides
(make two)
Begin with a Ch 58.
Row 1: Dc into 6th ch from the hook, continue across row by making 1 chain, skipping a ch, and
working 1 dc into the following ch, so that at the end of the row you have 27 spaces.
Row 2: Ch 4, continue making spaces across row as you did before.
Rows 3 - 15: Begin working from chart now. Ch 4 at the beg of each row.
Fasten off at the end of row 15. Be sure to make two of the Back Sides.

Crotch Panel
Ch 16
Row 1: Dc into 6th ch from hook, continue across row by making 1 ch. Skipping a ch, and working 1 dc
into the following ch so that at the end of the row you have 6 spaces.
Rows 2 8: Ch 4, continue making spaces across row as you did before.
Fasten off at the end of Row 8.

Assembly
You should now have one front panel, two back sides, and one crotch panel made. You begin the
assembly with the two back sides. Lay them together, one on top of the other so that the butterflies are
both on the same side. You must make a seam on the short side where the butterflies are. This is your
center back seam, and your two butterflies will grace your behind when you're done. You can join the
seams with sc stitches, sl stitches, or you may sew them together.
The Front Panel is joined to the ends of the back sides. This makes a tube. The Crotch Panel is joined to
the bottom of the Front Panel and to the back, center it so it fits on both sides of the center back seam.
Now you need to make leg bands. Do this by working first a round of dc stitches around the leg
opening. Join with a sl st. Ch 3. Next row is worked by alternating 1 FPdc, and 1 BPdc. Join with a sl
st. Fasten off. Do the other leg the same way.
The waistband is worked the same as the leg bands. You can add an extra row if you like a wider
waistband. Keep the post stitches the same as the row before if you decide to do this (that's FPdc into
FPdc and BPdc into BPdc)
Make a drawstring for the waist. Ch 360 and work sc across the chain. Fasten off. Weave through the

waist just under the waistband so it ties in the front.

Use your elastic thread or cording to run through the waistband on the inside. Use your tapestry needle
to draw it under the loops and tie it in a double knot when you get back around to the start. Make more
than one row of elastic so it gives you a more secure fit.
This pattern has stretch built in so it fits multiple sizes. Its also comfortable and soft.
