Synopsis
Since the withdrawal of BS 5400, the UK design standard for concrete is Eurocode 2. Eurocode 2 is the
new design standard for structural concrete in bridges. This course will provide background to the
provisions in the code and explain how to apply them to bridge structures.
This course will explain how to use both EC0 and EC1 to determine the design loads and actions on a
bridge. The design requirements will be discussed in the second day of the course.
