TEXT:
John
6:16-21

16 And
when
even was
now
come,

his
disciples
went
down

unto the
sea,
17 And
entered

into a
ship, and
went
over the
sea

toward
Caperna
um. And
it was
now

dark, and
Jesus
was not
come to
them.

18 And
the sea
arose by
reason of

a great
wind that
blew.

19 So
when
they had
rowed
about

five and
twenty or
thirty
furlongs,
they see

Jesus
walking
on the
sea, and
drawing

nigh unto
the ship:
and they
were
afraid.

20 But he
saith
unto
them, It

is I; be
not
afraid.

21 Then
they
willingly
received
him into

the ship:
and
immediat
ely the
ship was

at the
land
whither
they
went.

which is
aimed at

sharing
the
Gospel of
the Lord
Jesus

with
unbelieve

Christian

important
election

year, to
keep the
main
thing the
main

is
reaching
unbelieve

the
Gospel of
the Lord
Jesus

Christ
and
praying
for their
salvation,

for the
problem
in
America
is not

only
disobedie
nt
president
s,

politician

people,
but
disobedie

nt
pastors,
preacher

have
refused
to obey
the

Lords
Great
Commiss

is to, Go

the
world,
and
preach

the
gospel to
every
creature.
and

who have
refused
to obey
God's
repeated

comman
ds to
"pray
without
ceasing"

for
unbelieve
rs,
believers,
and

political
leaders.
Yes, you
should
pray for

the right
candidate
to win;
yes, you
should

vote for
the
candidate
that the
Lord

gives you
peace
about
voting
for. But,

don't get
caught
up in it
like the
world

does.
Nothing
much is
going to
change

until
people
get saved
and get
their

hearts
right with
the Lord.

This
campaign
is
inspired
by the

following
three
verses: 1
Corinthia
ns 2:2

which
says,
"For I
determin
ed not to

know
anything
among
you, save
Jesus

Christ,
and him
crucified.
" Acts
5:42

which
says,
"And
daily in
the

temple,
and in
every
house,
they

ceased
not to
teach and
preach
Jesus

Christ."
And 2
Timothy
2:4 which
says, "No

man that
warreth
entanglet
h himself
with the

affairs of
this life;
that he
may
please

him who
hath
chosen
him to be

a
soldier."
This
series is

not for
Christian
s
necessari
ly.

However,
I do hope
you are
one of
those

saints
who still
loves to
hear the
"Old, old

story of
Jesus
and His
love" -As

another
hymn
says,
"For
those

who
know it
best
Seem
hungerin

g and
thirsting
to hear it
like the
rest."

This
series is
primarily
for
unbelieve

rs, so
they can
hear and
understa
nd the

Gospel
and be
saved
from sin
and the

punishm
ent of sin
which is
hell. This
is

message
number
69.

Rick
Warren
said,
"Jesus
did not

stand on
the shore
and
shout
instructio

ns. When
you're in
a storm,
you don't
need

advice.
You need
a miracle!
You need
somebod

y to show
up, and
this is
what
Jesus

did. He
intervene
d in the
disciples'
storm.

This is
the
Gospel
that God
doesn't

stand on
the
shoreline
telling us
what to

do. He
comes
out and
meets us
in our

pain, our
fear, our
depressi
on, our
storm,

and our
discoura
gement.
He

comes to
us."
Jesus'
disciples

are
stranded
in the
middle of
the Sea

of Galilee
after
following
Jesus'
comman

d to go
back to
the other
side. A
fierce

storm
had
sprung
up
stalling

their
return to
the other
side.
Jesus not

being
with them
and
being
caught in

the storm
causes
the
disciples
to be

afraid.
They did
not like
the
situation

they were
in. They
probably
wanted to
know

why
Jesus
had sent
them into
a

situation
where
they
would
face

difficulty
like this.
Just as
the

feeding
of the
5,000 was
a test of
the

disciples'
faith, so
was the
turmoil
on the

Sea. On
the land,
Jesus
had
proven in

a huge
way that
He would
provide
for them;

all they
had to do
was trust
in Him.
How

soon it
seemed
that the
disciples
had

forgotten
that
lesson.
How
quickly

they
became
afraid.

As they
are
trapped
in the
middle of

the
storm,
they
become
even

more
afraid by
what
happens
next.

"They
see
Jesus
walking
on the

sea, and
drawing
nigh unto
the ship:
and they

were
afraid."
Other
Gospel
writers

inform us
that they
thought
this
person

walking
to them
on the
water
was a

ghost or
a spirit.
With all
the
miracles

that they
had seen
Jesus
work,
they

didn't
begin to
think that
Jesus
could

walk on
the water.
In their
minds,
they were

trapped
on a boat
in the
middle of
a raging

storm,
and now,
the spirit
of a dead
person is

coming
to them
on the
water.

But, the
Bible
tells us
that as
He drew

near,
Jesus
"saith
unto
them, It is

I; be not
afraid." In
the
Greek,
the

words "It
is I" are
the same
words
Jesus

uses to
proclaim
that He is
the I AM
of the Old

Testamen
t.
However,
here, He
is simply

announci
ng His
presence.
That in
itself is

enough
to calm
the
disciples'
fears. By

walking
to them
on the
waters,
Jesus

shows
them that
the very
thing
they are

afraid of
-- the
boisterou
s winds
and

waves -He
already
has them

under
control.
The Bible
does not

tell us
that
Jesus
calmed
the

storm.
(He did
on
another
occasion,

but not
this one.)
So, we
can
imagine

that
Jesus
came to
His
disciples

in the
midst of
the
storm. He
showed

them that
in the
midst of
their
circumst

ances He
was the
same.
And that
because

He was
the same,
they had
no

reason to
fear.
Our
circumst

ances
have no
affect on
God or
Jesus.

We might
feel like
the walls
are
closing in

on us, we
may feel
as
though
we are

being
pushed
to the
brink, we
may feel

like
Death
itself is
clawing
at our

backs.
But that
is not
how God
feels. In

the midst
of your
storm,
whatever
it is, He

comes to
you
calmly,
saying,
"It is I; be

not
afraid."
Everythin
g is
alright if

you have
Jesus
with you.
Your
circumst

ances
don't
have to
be
favorable

, but as
long as
you have
Jesus,
you can

make it
through
any
storm in
life.

That is
one of
the great
benefits

of having
a
relations
hip with
God

through
Jesus
Christ.
As God's
child, you

can be
confident
that He is
looking
out for

you and
He will
come to
you in
the midst

of your
storms
either to
deliver
you from

them or
to walk
with you
through
them.

Would
you like
to have
this
assuranc

e in your
life? If so,
here is
how you

can get it
today.
First,
accept

the fact
that you
are a
sinner,
and that

you have
broken
Gods
law. The
Bible

says in
Romans
3:23:
"For all
have

sinned
and come
short of
the glory
of God.

Second,
accept
the fact
that there

is a
penalty
for sin.
The Bible
states in

Romans
6:23:
"For the
wages of

sin is
death
Third,
accept

the fact
that you
are on
the road
to hell.

Jesus
Christ
said in
Matthew
10:28:

"And fear
not them
which kill
the body,
but are

not able
to kill the
soul: but
rather
fear him

which is
able to
destroy
both soul
and body

in hell."
Also, the
Bible
states in
Revelatio

n 21:8:
"But the
fearful,
and
unbelievi

ng, and
the
abomina
ble, and
murderer

s, and
whoremo
ngers
and
sorcerers

, and
idolaters,
and all
liars,
shall

have
their part
in the
lake
which

burneth
with fire
and
brimston
e: which

is the
second
death.

Now that
is bad
news, but
heres
the good

news.
Jesus
Christ
said in
John

3:16:
"For God
so loved
the
world,

that he
gave his
only
begotten
Son, that

whosoev
er
believeth
in him
should

not
perish,
but have
everlastin
g life."

Just
believe in
your
heart that
Jesus

Christ
died for
your
sins, was
buried,

and rose
from the
dead by
the
power of

God for
you so
that you
can live
eternally

with Him.
Pray and
ask Him
to come
into your

heart
today,
and He
will.

Romans
10:9 & 13
says,
That if
thou

shalt
confess
with thy
mouth
the Lord

Jesus,
and shalt
believe in
thine
heart that

God hath
raised
him from
the dead,
thou

shalt be
saved
For
whosoev
er shall

call upon
the name
of the
Lord

shall be
saved."
If you
believe

that
Jesus
Christ
died on
the cross

for your
sins, was
buried,
and rose
from the

dead, and
you want
to trust
Him for
your

salvation
today,
please
pray with
me this

simple
prayer:
Holy
Father
God, I

realize
that I am
a sinner
and that I
have

done
some bad
things in
my life. I
am sorry

for my
sins, and
today I
choose
to turn

from my
sins. For
Jesus
Christ
sake,

please
forgive
me of my
sins. I
believe

with all of
my heart
that
Jesus
Christ

died for
me, was
buried,
and rose
again. I

trust
Jesus
Christ as
my
Savior

and I
choose
to follow
Him as
Lord

from this
day
forward.
Lord
Jesus,

please
come
into my
heart and
save my

soul and
change
my life
today.
Amen.

If you
believed
in your
heart that

Jesus
Christ
died on
the
cross,

was
buried,
and rose
again,
allow me

to say,
congratul
ations on
doing the
most

important
thing in
life and
that is
accepting

Jesus
Christ as
your Lord
and
Saviour!
