HIGH-LEIT NT

New Functions in Release 4.22

The
HIGH-LEIT NT
SCADA System

Release 4.22

On the touch of a button: Geobased Grid Visualization

The new HIGH-LEIT NT 4.22 release enables
user-friendly geo-based process visualization,
directly from the HIGH-LEIT SCADA system.
The new features go far beyond a mere schematic display of the power grid plan and can be
used for power, gas and water systems.
Until now, this type of geo-based visualization
was reserved to large grid operators.
In the normal mode, geo-based visualization
enables a better overview of geographic locations and environments, e.g. streets, buildings,
house numbers etc. The realistic visualization
facilitates a better assessment of distances, and
individual coloring of the different power grid
groups shows exactly which areas are supplied
from which power source.

IDS GmbH sets new and important milestones with the release series 4.22 of the
IDS HIGH-LEIT SCADA system. New features are geo-based grid visualization at
the touch of a button and new components like formula scripts. Existing functions, such as ripple control groups in the
feed-in management function or finetuned access rights in the web interface,
have been expanded and upgraded. Alerting can now also be done via VoIP.
The profile of the new release series 4.22
is rounded off by a further improved usability, performance and various update
functions

Geo-based visualization is also useful for service and maintenance works, in that it provides a better overview of upcoming maintenance tasks. It shows, for instance, the impact
of a planned switching operation on the related
supply areas.
In the event of acute faults, the affected grid
area is colored with the appropriate color, like in
the schematic grid plan. Thanks to the combined display of geographic and dynamically
colored grid information, users can prepare
themselves for assignments and on-site conditions in the best possible manner.
The display of geographic information (streets,
buildings, house numbers etc.) is based on the
import of those data from public domain maps.
For a display of grid data, a simple data import
from your GIS system is sufficient. However,
this body of data must contain at least the geographic coordinates of all power lines and line
sectors. Furthermore, it is necessary to parameterize the appropriate GIS references for power
lines and line sections in the SCADA system.

Formula Scripts

Windows 10 and Office 2016

All ordinary calculations in the SCADA system

can be made using arithmetic values.
For cases where this scope of functions is not sufficient, formula scripts are available.
Formula scripts are suitable for complex calculations because they enable the definition of
variables, as well as loops and recursions.
Scripts are generated in the GROOVY programming language.
Formula scripts can access process and archived values both in the read and write
mode.
Formula scripts can be executed cyclically or
event-controlled
Different scripts can be used for the online
value and for subsequent calculations.
It is also possible to use scripts to determine
the status information.
An editor with syntax highlighting is available
for the creation of scripts.
A debugger enables an analysis of scripts.
In the debugger, stop points are set and the
script is executed step by step.
All variables can be both displayed and manipulated.

Version 4.22.3 is suitable for use with Windows

10 Service Pack 1 Threshold 2 (64 bit) for single-user terminals and desktop computers.
Windows 7 (64 bit) is still being supported.
For Excel Reports and the Excel Generating
List, Office 2016 (32 bit) is available.
Office 2013 (32 bit) is still supported.

Feed-In Management
Ripple Control Systems
Renewable energy plants whose power injection into the system shall be controlled as part
of the feed-in management can now also be
controlled via ripple control. For this purpose,
the feed-in management differentiates between
the ripple control group with the switching command and the numerous renewable energy
plants and their operators who can be reached
by means of this sequence of ripple control
pulses.

Load Control
The set of measures of the feed-in management
has been expanded to include measures for
load control. The catalog of measures now contains both the disconnection of contractually
defined loads as part of market-related
measures acc. to 13.1 of the Renewable Energy Act, and load control.

Alerting via VoIP

Many companies are upgrading their telephone
systems from analog or ISDN to fully-digital
voice-over IP (VoIP).
Dial-up modems that were formerly used for
alerting are not compatible with VoIP.
HIGH-LEIT NT version 4.22 (or later) supports
alerting via VoIP. A variety of solutions is available, depending on the customer's requirements.

Controllable loads may refer to real consumers,

busbar feeders or storage units. The information
required for load control can be laid down in a
master data sheet.
The following types of measures are available:
Contract-based load reduction
Load reduction in case of power grid bottlenecks
Load reduction in case of balance disturbances
Load reduction in case of voltage problems
Load reduction according to rank.
After the operator has entered the required total
power, the system selects the loads in a nondiscriminatory manner. When the announcement is released, the customer is automatically
informed as well.

News on the Standard

List of Attributes
The Attributes List is a new selection function
which enables the clear visualization of process
variables, together with status values and attributes, in tabular form.

Selection of Event Log Time Ranges for

Printout
For printout of the (filtered) Event Log, the operator is now able to select the time range he
wishes to print.

Project Texts in the Event Log and Alarms

List
Apart from the existing text words, it is now
possible to enter an additional project text for an
information object into the Event Log and the
Alarms List. This text may include e.g. a further
description or a reference to a third-party system.

Number of Icons in the Alarm Bar

For navigation, the Attributes List shows the
system hierarchy of the data model. Within this
hierarchy, the tree view enables easy and userfriendly navigation. It is also possible to carry
out sorting and filtering procedures in the attributes list, as well as adding values from the process displays via Copy & Paste.

Export of Meter Value Archives

After the introduction of meter value archives in
the previous version, these archives have now
also been integrated into the Export functions.

New Archive Dialog

As an alternative to the existing archive dialog, a
new dialog is now available for administration
and update of the numerical process data archives. Thanks to its spreadsheet structure, this
new dialog enables the quick and easy editing
of several values one after another. Moreover, it
is possible to use the Copy & Paste function to
import and export value ranges to and from
EXCEL, respectively.

The maximum number of icons to be shown in

the alarm bar has been increased from 9 to 20.

Visualization of Alarms List during Login

In addition to images, graphs and the Event
Log, it is now possible to add the visualization of
the Alarms List as action to be carried out during login.

Selection of a List of all Process Displays

Apart from enabling selection of the alarm display, the context menu of an information object
now also enables the user to call up a list of all
images showing the information object. The
operator can use this list to select the required
image. This functionality does not require any
extra parameterization effort.
