ABSTRAK

Usia ibu adalah lama waktu hidup ibu sejak dilahirkan. Usia ibu saat hamil
mempunyai pengaruh terhadap berat badan lahir bayi. Terlalu muda dan terlalu tua
usia ibu akan membuat berat badan lahir rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengidentifikasi hubungan antara usia ibu dengan berat badan lahir bayi.
Desain penelitian analitik dengan jenis rancangan cross sectional. Populasi
dalam penelitian ini adalah ibu yang melahirkan di RSUD Sidoarjo pada bulan
April 2013 sebesar 321 responden. Besar sample 178 responden diambil secara
simple random sampling. Variabel usia ibu dan berat badan lahir bayi diambil
menggunakan data sekunder dari rekam medik. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji
statistik korelasi rank spearman dengan nilai kemaknaan = 0,05.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar (75,84%) melahirkan
pada usia 20-35 tahun dan hampir seluruhnya (83,71%) melahirkan bayi dengan
berat badan lahir bayi normal. Hasil analisis korelasi rank spearman didapatkan
= 0,019 < = 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak berarti ada hubungan antara usia ibu
dengan berat badan lahir bayi.
Kesimpulan penelitian usia ibu berhubungan dengan berat badan lahir bayi.
Oleh karena itu diharapkan tenaga kesehatan meningkatkan pemberian
penyuluhan tentang usia reproduksi sehat dan skrining kesehatan untuk
meminimalkan bayi lahir dengan berat badan lahir rendah (BBLR).

ABSTRACT
Maternal age is long time mothers live since was born. Maternal age has
impact to birth babys weight. Too young and too old of maternal age will make
low birth weight. This research is purposed to identify the relation between
maternal age and birth babys weight.
The research design is analytic with cross sectional method. The population of
this research was mother who was labour in RSUD Sidoarjo April 2013, totally
321 respondents. 178 respondents were taken as the samples by using simple
random sampling technique. The variables were maternal age and birth babys
weight were taken using secondary data from medical records. Data analyzed
with spearman rank corelation statistical test with significance values of =
0,05.
The result of research showed that most of the respondents (75,84%) labour
when 20 until 35 years old and almost entirely (83,71%) of the respondents
having baby with normal birth babys. The result of analysis spearman rank
corelation statistical test showed that (0,019) < (0,019) so that H 0 was
rejected showing that there was a relationship between maternal age and birth
babys weight.
The concluded that maternal age has relationship with birth babys weight.
Therefore, the health workers should be increase give promotion about health
reproductive age and pregnant scrining to make minimum risk low birth babys
weight.
