Job Advertisement (mark=10%)


Course Outcomes

Work in a small group of 3 5 members to communicate ideas, results, findings and etc. (CO6)
Assignment Outcomes
By the end of this assignment, student should be able to;
i. Identify and explain the qualities of engineer demanded by prospective employers.
ii. Evaluate, to a certain extent, whether the Mechanical engineering program that they are currently enrolled will
adequately prepare them for their career.
iii. Write a meaningful report based on the findings from the study.
iv. Organize and work effectively in a team.
Description
Lead by the leader, each group needs to find at least 30 job advertisements that someone with B.Eng. (Hons.)
Mechanical Engineering qualification is eligible to apply. From the advertisements, summarize (in tabular form) the
qualities of a prospective engineer demanded by employers. Classify these qualities into three groups; technical
ability, ICT skills, and communication/interpersonal skills (To be included in Appendix 1). Write an executive summary
(not more that 3 pages long) explaining your findings and comment on whether the program that you are currently
enrolled will adequately prepare you for your future career.
The report must observe the following format:
