Description
The world is happening right now and we only can experiment instances of it. Can you imagine how
many airplanes are flying right now? How many people are displaced from their home countries to
another totally different culture? The world is totally connected, producing international relations
intellectually, culturally, economically and emotionally.
With this project, I want to concentrate poetically an instant of everything that is happening in the
atmosphere right now. Presenting it in a light interface, connected to the internet, all the realtime
movements of the air traffic of the planet.
In humans, the blood circulates, transport and delivers necessary nutrients and oxygen to the cells.
The project metaphors human body circulation with aerial transportation, where the air traffic is
producing a continuous flux of happenings, affections, energies, it is connecting distances and cultures, producing life.
The project proposes the creation of a software that maps and displays worldwide airlines routes
in a graphic full of animated lines moving. The software (animation in real time) can be displayed in
media facades and Spherical displays connected to the internet.
Every single scheduled flight on any given day is represented by a colorful line from its point of
origin to the airport of destination, forming a net of thousands of light colorful lines. Hubs like JFK
turn into heavy condensed nodes where lines meet, while local routes are only slightly discernible.
The displays will be connected to the Internet by a software that will map all the airlines traffic and
reproduce it in the project by light drawing routes of the active flights in that moment. The software
is going to create hundreds of animated lines that represent all the airplanes routes that are flying
in that time over the planet.

Technical requirements
Software Development: The project includes the development of a software/application that tracks
in realtime using Internet all the airplanes routes that are active right now. The software will generate a colorful animation that draws in realtime the route of all the airplanes flying at the moment.
Each Airplane will be represented by a different color that draws the route from origen to final destination. Generally 9000 airplanes are flying every moment.
We are looking for colaboration with flight tracker companies that shows live air traffic from around
the world. Companies that combines data from several data sources including ADS-B, MLAT and
FAA.

Example is FlightRadar 24 (http://www.flightradar24.com/)

The software will be displayed with Led sphere display or projection using an inflated ball.
