FACULTY
The faculty of the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School
of Business form the living link between theory and
practice. Our faculty translate the aspirations of the
school into sequential steps of behavior, not just
learning, but personal transformation. Utilising the
road map of the programme curricula, the Lok Jack
GSB entrusts our faculty with the critical mission of
igniting the creative power of our students to make
changes in organisations and society.
Our faculty are drawn predominantly from the realm
of practice and bring real-world experience into the

classroom to make learning and research effective

drawn from the working world.
Complementing the industry practitioners among the
faculty are leading academics from The University of
the West Indies and from universities further afield.

Why the Lok Jack GSB?

After my four-year stint in South Africa, the offer from Lok
Jack GSB was truly a God-sent opportunity for me to compare
my experience and understand how different geographical
and socio-political systems influence the formation of
entrepreneurial and managerial behavior of people. I find my
students at Lok Jack GSB very inquisitive and my interaction

At Lok Jack GSB the classrooms represent a stage set for a

grand performance. The technology and infrastructure is
second to none in the Caribbean. In addition to the physical
facilities, the administrative support that is availed to the
lecturers has in no small way assisted in facilitating a grand
experience. As with any performance-oriented institution,

Professor

MIGUEL
CARRILLO

Professor Miguel Carrillo has vast experience in academia

and industry, with his main areas of focus being innovation
and strategy. He has had a distinguished career spanning
over 21 years in 12 different countries and three languages.
He has held the positions of Strategy Professor, Western New
England College, Massachusetts and Dean of the School of
Business, Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de
Monterrey (ITEC), Mexico.
He was Director of the Miami Campus at Adolfo Ibanez
School of Management, Florida, and before that was Head
of the Innovation Centre and Professor at Midwestern
State University, Wichita, Texas. He has also consulted with
McKinsey Management Consulting firm and was Finance
Director at Hewlett Packard (Mexico). In June 2009, he was
appointed Executive Director of the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate
School of Business.

Prof. Abhijit Bhattacharya

Dr. Camille Samuel

Professor Abhijit Bhattacharyas main areas of

interest are entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity
management and business strategy. He has a PhD
(Economics) and an MSc (Physics and Mathematics),
from the Patrice Lumumba University, Moscow.

Dr. Camille Samuel is currently an Independent

Management Consultant and a Lecturer at the Arthur Lok
Jack Graduate School of Business and The University of
the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.

Previously he was the Dean of Globsyn Business

School, Ahmedabad; Director, Asian Institute of
Family Business; Nirma University of Science
and Technology; and has taught in several other
Universities worldwide. He also writes extensively in
many international journals.

She is also a Researcher for Market Facts and Opinion and

for AkInsights, Advanced Feminist Epistemology and
Research Methods (Institute of Gender and Development
Studies, UWI, St. Augustine); Communication Skills and
Research Methods (Land and Surveying Department,
UWI, St. Augustine) and is also a Thesis Supervisor
Masters students (University of Amsterdam, The
Netherlands). Dr. Samuel holds a PhD in Corporate
Turnaround Leadership and Gender, The University of
the West Indies, and holds an MBA (Distinction) from the
Maastricht School of Management, Maastricht.

Andre Taitt

Carl Carrillo

At present, Andre Taitt serves as Lecturer for the

Financial and Management Accounting courses
for the Executive MBA and the International MBA
programmes at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School
of Business.

Carl Carillo is the Managing Director and Principal

Consultant of People Issues Ltd., a member of the Human
Resource Management Association of Trinidad and
Tobago (HRMATT) and is certified in the PROSCI change
management methodologies and tools. He is also a parttime lecturer at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of
Business in the Master of Human Resource Management
(MHRM) and the International Master of Business
Administration (IMBA) programmes.

He is also a senior Consultant for The Hada Group

and holds a Master of Science in Accounting, a BSc.
in Management Studies and is a Certified Internal
Auditor. He previously worked at Epicor Software
Company, The Power Generation Company of
Trinidad and Tobago and at PCS Nitrogen Limited.

He also has thirty-seven years experience in the local

oil industry in all major divisions and holds an MSc
Organisational Behaviour from the University of
London, BSc Natural Sciences (Chemistry and Industrial
Chemistry) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management
Studies from The University of the West Indies.

Balraj Kistow

Charles Baisden

Balraj Kistow is a lecturer at the Arthur Lok Jack

Graduate School of Business. He teaches courses in
Caribbean and International Business Management,
Financial Management and Accounting in the
International Master of Business Administration
(IMBA) programme. He is also the Programme
Director for the Master of Small and Medium
Enterprise Management (MSMEM).

Charles Baisden is presently the Senior Manager,

Presidents Office, of the National Gas Company of
Trinidad and Tobago. He is also a part-time lecturer at
The University of the West Indies and the Arthur Lok Jack
Graduate School of Business.

He holds an MSc and BSc in Management Studies,

The University of the West Indies and is pursuing the
Doctor of Business Administration programme at the
Lok Jack GSB.

He boasts intimate knowledge and involvement at

professional and managerial levels, in various aspects of
the petroleum industry, both upstream and downstream,
for over thirty (30) years. He also has 28 years teaching
experience and holds an MBA in Finance, Operations
Management, MIS in Decision Sciences, University of
Western Ontario (Canada), 1982, and a Post-graduate
Diploma (Degree) in Petroleum Engineering.

Conrad Enill

Dave Smith

Conrad Enill is an international advisor on financial and

energy analysis and strategy with policy background at
the organisational, national and international levels. He
is also a lecturer at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of
Business in the MBA in Sustainable Energy Management
programme.

Dave Smith is the Director of Communications for

the National Union of Government and Federated
Workers and also lectures at the Arthur Lok Jack
Graduate School of Business.

He has extensive experience in joint international projects

and joint projects with United States government agencies
and initiatives. Some of his roles have included: Governor
for the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Chair of the
the IMF G24, Head of Delegation for the Commonwealth
Finance Ministers and Representative to a major recent
World Council of Credit Unions Caribbean Development
Education initiative, Governor for the World Bank, the
International Development Association and for the
Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.

He holds an MA in Industrial Relations, University of

Keele, United Kingdom; and Ambulance Aid, Essex
Ambulance Service Training School, United Kingdom.

Curt Wellington

Faheem Mohammed

Curt Wellington has been a consultant with the Arthur Lok

Jack Graduate School of Business for the past eight years.

Faheem Mohammed is the Managing Director of a

Strategic Management Consultancy, and lectures in
business-technology related courses with the Arthur
Lok Jack Graduate School of Business and the Australian
Institute of Business. He holds an MSc in Strategic
Business Information Technology and Post Graduate
Certification in University Teaching and Lecturing.

He is the holder of a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human

Resource Management and an Executive MBA from the
Lok Jack GSB. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctorate of
Business Administration through the Arthur Lok Jack
Graduate School of Business, University of the West
Indies.
Curt has also been trained in Rural Industry Promotion for
Developing Economies at the National Institute for Rural
Development in Hyderabad, India, and was certified as
a Trainer in Small Business Management by the InterAmerican Institute for Co-operation in Agriculture.

Prior to this, Faheem has served in management and

administrative roles in corporate and multinational
organisations, as well as initiated several entrepreneurial
ventures. His work and exposure has spanned
organisations and publications in jurisdictions across
the Caribbean, Latin America, UK and Asia. These
complement courses of professional study in areas such
as Leadership, Technology, Psychometrics, Project and
Change Management.

Dale Prescott

Francis Lewis

Dale Prescott is an Information Technology Manager

within the Public Service. He lectures for the
International MBA programme at the Arthur Lok Jack
Graduate School of Business.

Francis Lewis is the Principal Consultant, Res

Consulting Limited. He is also currently a
Commissioner of Trinidad & Tobago Securities and
Exchange Commission and a Director on the boards
of ISKO Enterprises Limited and Caribbean School of
Dancing.

His credentials include an MBA specialising in

Innovation and Entrepreneurship and a BSc in
Computing and Information Systems from the
University of London.

He has worked in several local and international

companies at the senior management level, and holds
an MBA from Harvard Business School, Boston;
Bachelor and Associate degrees magna cum laude,
with dual majors in Management and Marketing University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School,
Philadelphia.

Dr. Gour Saha

Helen Drayton

Dr. Gour C. Saha is the Professor and Director of the

Centre for Business Analytics and Intelligence at the
Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business and
is also the vice-president of Global Business and
Management Forum (GBMF), USA.

Senator Drayton was appointed an Independent Senator

in November 2007 and is a Marketing Consultant and
Board Member of SERVOL. She has spent twenty six
years with RBTT Financial Group, from 1976 to 1985 and
from 1988 to 2006 - where she held executive positions
of Director Group Human Resources, Director Group
Marketing and Corporate Communications, and was
a member of the Board of Directors of RBTT Trust
Company, RBTT Bank Limited, RBTT Security Limited,
RBTT Services Limited and Banc Assurance Limited. She
also held the position of President of ROYTEC.

He has more than 22 years experience in teaching

and academic leadership in India and Thailand and
received his PhD in Technology Management from the
Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. He holds an
MBA from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, an MS
in Computer Information Systems from Assumption
University of Thailand, a Bachelor in Statistics from
Academy of Statistics in Indonesia and is published in
several well-known international journals.

She holds an Executive Master of Business Administration

(EMBA) from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of
Business, Diploma in Bank Marketing, University of
Colorado, Boulder USA., Certificate in Strategic Human
Resources, Harvard Business School.

Dr. Gwendoline Williams

Henry Bailey

Dr. Gwendoline Williams for the period 2006-2009 was

appointed as the sole Caribbean representative to the
United Nations 24-member Council of Experts on Public
Administration (CEPA), a sub-committee of the UNs
Economic and Social Council.

Henry Bailey holds BSc and MSc degrees in Economics,

and also an MBA. His commercial career includes 25 years
of marketing management in the pharmaceutical and
medical device industries in the Caribbean.

Apart from delivering training programmes, she was

a member of several project consulting teams for
regional and international organisations, including: the
Caribbean Community Secretariat (CARICOM), UNDP,
UNESCO, CARICAD, the Commonwealth Secretariat,
the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU),
the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), the World
Bank and the British Council (DFID).

He has lectured in Economics, Health Economics and

Marketing at UWI, St Augustine, Lok Jack GSB and another
private tertiary institution and has held the position of
Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Economics, UWI.
He is a member of The EuroQol Research Foundation,
the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and
Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and the International Society
for Quality of Life Research.

Haven Allahar

Hilary Bengochea

Haven Allahar has worked for 38 years in Trinidad and

Tobago in the area of economic and business development
and project planning, serving the Ministry of Planning
and Development as a Project Analyst and the Point
Lisas Industrial Port Development Corporation as
Divisional Manager, Project Management Services. He
was the founding Chief Executive of the Small Business
Development Company in 1990 and the first Chief
Executive of the Urban Development Corporation in 1995.

Hilary Bengochea co-owns and operates an Education,

Training & Development Agency, Sandee Communications
Ltd. He has consulted and conducted workshops across
the Caribbean for companies such as FedEx, The Aruba
Free Zone, the Neal & Massy Group, Arcelor Mittal Steel
and Caribbean Money Market Brokers.

With 28 years teaching experience, his specific interests are

in processes involved in developing creativity, innovation
and entrepreneurship. He holds a BSc Economics (UWI)
and in Business Administration (Ryerson U), MA in
Management Organisational Leadership, American
Public University (USA), 2010; and an MSc Management,
La Salle University (USA), 1995.

He is also a Facilitator and senior consultant with the

Business Development Company and holds a BSc from
The University of the West Indies and an Executive MBA
from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business.
He has over twenty-five years experience in Marketing
and teaches in the International Master of Business
Administration and the Master of Marketing programmes.

Howard Dottin

Dr. Julian Ferdinand

Howard Dottin has been in the financial field for over

30 years, with significant experience in tax banking,
insurance and treasury management. Currently the
head of the Economics and Finance SAG at Lok Jack
GSB and the Chairman of the North Central Regional
Health Authority, his credentials include a fellowship
of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants
and an Executive MBA from the Arthur Lok Jack
Graduate School of Business.

A business consultant, lecturer and author, Dr. Ferdinand

has conducted management and leadership training
in several companies and organisations throughout
the Eastern Caribbean. He holds a Doctor in Business
Administration from the University of Bradford
(England) and is the Honorary Consul for Spain to St.
Vincent and the Grenadines. He received the Merito Civil
Cruz (Civil Order Cross) from Spains King Juan Carlos I
for outstanding service to the government and people of
Spain in his capacity as Honorary Consul.

He has worked as Chief Financial Officer in two of

Trinidad & Tobagos premier financial institutions,
and as an auditor in a top auditing firm and the Board
of Inland Revenue. He is also the Programme Director
for the Master of Science in International Finance
(MSc IF) programme at the Lok Jack GSB.

He is the former Chief Executive Officer of East Caribbean

Group of Companies and has also represented the private
sector on the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States
Trade Negotiating Group (OECSTNG). Dr. Ferdinand is
also the Chairman of the OECS Trade and Distribution
Company Limited.

Ian Chinapoo

Dr. Kamla Mungal

Mr. Chinapoo is the Managing Director, Investment

Banking with FirstCaribbean International Bank Ltd.
He has significantly contributed to the structuring and
execution of various transactions during his years with
FirstCaribbean.

Dr. Kamla Mungal holds a Bachelor of Education and

Master in Education degree from The University of the
West Indies. She also completed the Executive MBA at
the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business and
earned her DBA from Aston University, Birmingham, UK.

He has 15 years experience overall in Investment

Banking in the Caribbean and Central American
region, working previously with Citigroup as Business
Head for The Bahamas and Senior Transactor, Debt
Capital Markets and M&A in the Miami regional office.

Dr. Mungal has served as a part-time lecturer at the

UWI since 1999 and also lectures in Curriculum at the
Mount Saint Vincent University, Canada. In her career
at the Ministry of Education, she taught at all levels of
the system, serving as Principal for 4 years. She has
also worked as a Curriculum Officer and served as
Programme Director for the TTUTA/Mount Saint Vincent
University Master in Education programme. She led the
implementation of the quality components of the Fourth
Basic Education (World Bank) Project in Trinidad and
Tobago. Dr. Mungal is presently the Director of Academic
Development and Accreditation at the Lok Jack GSB.

Janet Peters

Keith Lequay

Janet Peters is currently the General Manager, PSCU

Credit Union and lectures and facilitates courses at the
Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business.

Keith Lequay is an organisational psychologist who

has acquired varied work experience in tertiary
education, banking, organisational & business
development and project management. Since 2005,
Keith as been an MBA practicum advisor and parttime lecturer at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School
of Business, UWI where his subject areas include
Human Resource Development, Strategic HRM and
Promoting Organisational Wellness.

She was once a Director of Finance and Administration

for the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago, Ag.
Vice President, Finance and Administration, Corporate
Secretary and Legal Officer of the College of Science,
Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago
(COSTAATT). She was also a Business Analyst at the
Ministry of Finance; a Budget Analyst in the Ministry of
Finance, Investments Division and a Lead Consultant to
the Association of Caribbean States. She holds a Master
in Public Sector Management, UWI Mona, in conjunction
with Monash University, Australia and London School of
Economics; an LLB from the University of London and a
BA History and Management.

He is currently the Director of Organisational

Development of CaribCare limited and an Employee
Assistance Porvider (EAP), promoting organisational
wellness in the Caribbean.

Keith Thomas

Paula Thomas

Keith Thomas is currently Executive in Residence at the

Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business where
his focus is on Experiential Learning, Leadership and
Business Intelligence and Analytics.

Paula Thomas is a member of the Human Resource

Management Association of Trinidad and Tobago and
the Trinidad & Tobago Association of Psychologists.
She also lectures at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate
School of Business.

Mr. Thomas was a Group Senior Vice President, Executive

and Investment Committees member of one of the
leading conglomerates in the Caribbean Chairman of the
Information Technology & Communications Business
Unit of said conglomerate, as well as CEO of companies
for over 19 years. He has also served on the University
of Trinidad & Tobagos ICT Programmes Advisory
Committee; represented the Trinidad & Tobago Chamber
of Industry & Commerce on the Cabinet-appointed
eBusiness Roundtable and GATE Standing Committee; as
well as Chaired industry committees, Public sector boards
and community organisations. Mr. Thomas is the holder
of a Henley MBA and a BSc (Math) from UWI.

She holds an MS Industrial and Organisational

Psychology from the Florida International University,
Miami, BSc Psychology and Sociology, The University
of the West Indies, Trinidad, Postgraduate Diploma
in Marketing, Chartered Institute of Marketing, and a
Higher Group Diploma, Marketing from the London
Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Nadia Salamat-Ali

Rainer Bisnath

Mrs. Salamat-Ali is a Lecturer and Programme Director

for the Master of Marketing Programme at the Arthur
Lok Jack Graduate School of Business since 2007.

Rainier Bisnath has seven years of teaching experience

and holds an International MBA with a specialisation in
Marketing from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of
Business, where he is also a lecturer in the International
MBA and Master of Marketing programmes.

She received her bachelors from The University of

the West Indies and a Master of Marketing from the
Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, and is
presently pursuing her doctoral degree in Marketing.
She possesses a wealth of experience in Marketing,
having spent more than ten years in the pharmaceutical
industry. She is currently a consultant and has
conducted numerous workshops in customer service,
and is also a partner with IBB Limited and an Associate
with the Service Quality Institute of Minneapolis.

His last posting was at Neal and Massy Energy

Limited, where he held the position of Sector Manager
responsible for marketing the companys Exploration
and Production services.

Patrick Vincent

Richard Ramsawak

Patrick Vincent is an accomplished Petroleum

Economist and Commercial Manager with a deep
and comprehensive understanding of the oil and
gas industry. He is currently the Upstream Strategy
Specialist at Petrotrin, the state-owned intergrated oil
company.

Mr. Richard Ramsawak is Programme Director for the

Master of Port Management Programme at the Lok
Jack GSB. He has significant experience designing and
implementing various private sector development
initiatives domestically and internationally.

Patrick teaches in the areas of Project Economic

Evaluation and Risk-Analysis and Decision-Making.
He is the Managing Director of this own company,
Experture and has been a Faculty Member with the
Lok Jack GSB since January 2009.

He has coordinated the development of national strategic

plans for the Food and Beverage, Seafood and Maritime
Industries of Trinidad and Tobago. He also the planned
and executed the First Regional Forum on Cluster
Development which was held last year in Trinidad and
Tobago. Mr. Ramsawak was former Vice Chairman of
the Cabinet Appointed Food and Beverage Industry
Development Committee and Director of the Seafood
Industry Development Company of
Trinidad and Tobago.

Richard Jeremy Trotman

Sterling Frost

Richard Trotman currently sits on the board of Flavorite

Foods Limited. He is a member of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago and
is also a Course Lecturer in Finance, Accounting and
Entrepreneurship at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate
School of Business.

Sterling Frost is currently a lecturer at the Arthur Lok

Jack Graduate School of Business and a part-time lecturer
at The University of the West Indies. He is also Vice
President, Human Resources, Citibank Trinidad and
Tobago Ltd.

He holds both a BSc and MSc Degrees in Accounting

from The University of the West Indies and has served
as an academic tutor in Accounting and Financial
Management at that institution. In July 2003, he
completed the Advanced Management Programme
at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. In
May 2007, he completed the LLM Degree in Corporate
and Commercial Law at UWI.

Previously Sterling Frost held positions such as Senior

Manager Human Resources, Head of Sales and Service
for Republic Bank Limited, Executive Director, Carib
Brewery Limited, Assistant General Manager, The Royal
Bank of Trinidad and Tobago Limited and also worked
at the Royal Bank of Canada. He holds an Mphil in
Management from The University of the West Indies,
an Executive MBA from the Lok Jack GSB, an Institute
of Canadian Bankers Part 1 and Human Resource
Management, from the University of Calgary, Alberta,
Canada.

Dr. Ron Sookram

Subash Jahorie

Dr. Ron Sookram leads the Corporate Responsibility

portfolio at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of
Business, and lectures in the Doctor of Business in
Administration (DBA), Executive Masters in Business
Administration (EMBA), International Masters in
Business Administration (IMBA), and Masters in
International Finance (MSc Finance) programmes at
the Lok Jack GSB.

Subash Jahorie is currently a Lubrication Engineering

Consultant with TOSL Engineering Limited and
Southern United Agencies Company Limited (Damus
Group of Companies). He is also a Vibration Analyst
certified by the Vibration Institute, Illinois, USA ,
and the Technical Manager of LubriCon Consultancy
Services.

Prior to joining the Lok Jack GSB, Ron was a

Senior Research Specialist for CSR and Sustainable
Development at the South Trinidad Chamber of
Industry and Commerce (STCIC), and played a key
role in designing, executing and producing the UNDP/
STCIC National CSR Mapping Project of Trinidad &
Tobago.

He joined the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School

of Business in 2006 and teaches in the Business
& Industrial Marketing module of the Master of
Marketing programme. He holds his Post-Graduate
Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing
and a Master of Marketing from the Arthur Lok Jack
Graduate School of Business, where he received a
distinction award.

Stephen Sheppard

Wynette Harewood

Stephen Sheppard is the Assistant Vice President,

Student Affairs, The University of Trinidad and Tobago,
November 2007 to present and currently lectures at the
Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business in the
Master of Human Resource Management programme.

After graduating from The University of the

West Indies, Wynette spent seven years teaching
before embarking on a career in Human Resource
Management. She is now the Programme Director
for the Master of Human Resource Management
programme at the Lok Jack GSB. She has worked for
corporate clients in the private and public sectors in
Trinidad and Tobago and in the region.

He is also a Member of Human Resource Management

Association of Trinidad and Tobago and Society for
Human Resource Management, USA.

Her international assignments have taken her to The

Kingdom of Swaziland and Botswana in southern
Africa and the Republic of the Seychelles where she
facilitated workshops on behalf of the Arthur Lok Jack
Graduate School of Business and the
Commonwealth Secretariat.

Dr. Zaffar Khan

Zameer Mohammed

Dr. Zaffar Khan is a national award nominee for his

contribution to national development and as such has
been recognised by the Office of the Honorable Prime
Minister and by the United Nations. He is also the

Energy Management at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate
School of Businesses

Zameer Mohammed is a lecturer at the Arthur Lok

Jack Graduate School of Business in courses such
as International Market Research and International
Marketing and Global Business. At present, he holds
the position of Assistant Vice President Professional
Education at The University of Trinidad and Tobago
(UTT).

He has spent approximately 20 years at BP both at the

Corporate and Operations Management levels and
completed the Executive Education Programme in
Business Strategy at Harvard University Graduate School
of Business Administration in Boston MA, USA. He holds
a PhD in Economics with emphasis in Petroleum .

He is a graduate of The University of the West Indies in

Management and Geology and holds a post graduate
diploma in education from the same University. Mr.
Mohammed also holds a Master of Education from the
University of Toronto in educational measurement and
evaluation and a Master of Business Administration in
Corporate Strategy and International Marketing from
Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.
