Lesson Aims: By the end of the lesson, the Ss will be able to:
- associate different locations with the animals that live there;
- formulate in writing questions and answers regarding location;
- improve their pronunciation and ability of speaking in English;
- learn and use vocabulary concerning location.
Expected difficulties: Students might have problems in formulate in writing questions and answers
regarding location.
Teaching techniques: dialogue, explanation, observation, learning through discovery.

Activity 2: Presentation/Teaching

Aim: for students to pronounce and translate correctly the vocabulary concerning locations.
Materials: textbook, notebooks, blackboard
Organisation: individual work
Procedure: Teacher asks students to open the book at page 96. Teacher announces the title of the
lesson and its topic. Then teacher explains also the lesson aims (what they are supposed to do this
class). Teacher now asks students to look at the four images. Teacher writes on the board the
locations. Then asks students to translate them in Romanian and asks to give examples of animals
that live there.
Activity 3: Practice
Writing, Speaking
Timing: 15`
Aim: for students to formulate in writing questions and answers regarding location;
- associate different locations with the animals that live there;
Materials: poster, glue, pieces of paper.
Organization: individual work
Procedure: Teacher now hangs a poster on which there are the four locations. Then explains to the
students what they are required to do: some students will come to the board and extract a piece of
paper on which there is the name of an animal. They will have to associate the animal with its
location/habitat. They will also have to formulate in writing questions and answers regarding the
location of the animals just like in exercise 2 on page 96. They will have to write on the board and
on their notebooks.
Expected difficulties: Students might have problems in formulating in writing questions and
answers regarding location.
Activity 4: Practice

Timing: 5`
Aim: for students to correctly associate the animals with their location/habitat.
Materials: book, notebooks.
Organization: pair work
Procedure: Teacher now asks students to look on exercise 1 on page 98 and explains to the students
what they have to do, then asks them to work in pairs. Teacher then asks some students to read their
answer in order to correct if necessary.
Activity 5: Production
Listening, Speaking , Writing
Interaction: T-Sts
Timing: 5`
Aim: for students to formulate they own questions and answers regarding location.
Materials: notebooks, blackboard.
Organization: individual work.
Procedure: Teacher asks students to choose another animal and make their own example just like
in the previous activity. Then asks some students to read.
Expected difficulties: Students might have problems in making their own example.
Activity 5: Homework

Procedure: Teacher now sets the homework (exercise 1 on page 99). Teacher explains to the
students what they have to do.
Activity 6: Feedback

Procedure: Teacher now evaluates the achievement of the lesson aims by making sure students
have a clear understanding of the lesson. Teacher marks some students for their responses and
makes general appreciation of the class.
