MANUFACTURING
We are always pushing the outer limits of new
manufacturing technologies. We use the latest in
CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology to turn
our own aluminum and plastic trim pieces, wind
checks, shims and other rod components. This allows
us to tightly control the precision and quality of every
part while increasing efficiency in our work flow.
Its about as high-tech as you can get and produces
a better, more consistent product, every time.
DESIGN
IPC, ART, TET, FRS and the many other design and manufacturing
technologies and protocols that go into building the most advanced
fishing rods on earth didnt come about by accident or by trial and
error. We use sophisticated CAD programs like 3D Solidworks in the
design and modeling of every rod, handle and custom component
part to achieve the ultimate level of precision.
HANDCRAFTSMANSHIP
It takes experience, dedication and talent to handcraft a premiumperformance fishing rod, and St. Croixs team of expert rod builders
are the best in the business. It takes over 30 pairs of hands to complete
three-dozen different steps in the manufacturing, assembly and
finishing of a St. Croix rod. Whether that takes place at our
headquarters in Park Falls, Wisconsin or our state-of-the-art
factory in Fresnillo, Mexico each rod is a product of the passion
and attention to detail of the talented people who make them.

Technology (ART)
Integrated Poly Curve (IPC) Technology

Developed exclusively by St. Croix, Integrated Poly Curve
(IPC) tooling technology has rapidly become the
engineering leader in rodmaking. Designed to eliminate
all transitional points in the rod blank, IPC-engineered
rods feature smoother actions, increased strength
and greater sensitivity.
Taper Enhancement
Technology
Advanced Reinforcing Technology (ART) is an exotic carbon fiber

material that adds a magnitude (10X) of strength with virtually
no increase in blank diameter or weight. ART significantly improves
the hoop strength of the blank by preventing it from deforming
or ovaling under a severe load, such as a powerful hook set.
ART is also a critical part of our slim-profile ferrule design.

combines a fortified super resin with new computer operated curing ovens that provide improved temperature and time management through all stages of the curing
cycle. FRS prevents microbuckling by keeping the carbon fibers in proper alignment. Blanks manufactured using this advanced manufacturing protocol test out

A medalist in world ice fishing competitions, Greg spent years refining
his invention. The super-finesse coil spring is much more sensitive
than any other type of indicator. It allows ice anglers to see the most
subtle bump or strike well before it can be felt.

St. Croixs strike indicator system is adjustable, so its sensitivity

level can accommodate different lure sizes. To make the bobber
more sensitive, push the spring forward through the grommet.
To make it less sensitive, push it back. (illustration no. 1)

The system is most sensitive when there is a 30-degree bend (position

2) in the spring. To find the bottom, lower the jig until the indicator
returns to position 1. Then, either slowly reel up once or lift the rod
slightly until the indicator is back to position 2. (illustration no. 2)
