Knife gate valves for pulp, reject and waste

Trust your instinct

expect the best
Stafsj serves the international Pulp and Paper industry with high quality
valves. Superior quality, excellent reliability and low life cycle cost are
some benets to be expected from valves carrying Stafsjs name.
Stafsj was founded in 1666 and is today one of Swedens oldest
works still operating. The production started with cannons and it became
a nearly 200 year long tradition. The production of knife gate valves
started in 1928 in close co-operation with the near-by pulp & paper mills.
Since 2005 Stafsj is part of the German family owned Brer Group
which also consist of Ebro Armaturen a leading supplier of buttery
valves, pneumatic and electric actuators.
A large proportion of our resources are devoted to research and development of new products. Thanks to close contacts with pioneers in
the process industry, we are able to meet new needs and requirements
as they arise. Changing conditions call for fresh thinking, aggressive environments require high performance and unusual problems sometimes
demands unusual solutions. Excellence and exibility is a big part of our
job and you should expect nothing less.
We have quality certication in accordance with several different standards. Since 1993 we have been ISO certied, currently in accordance
with ISO 9001-2008. We are certied in accordance with the European
Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), which is a recognition of our
ambitious quality efforts and technical competence. This means that you
as a customer receive more than functionality and knowledge when you
buy knife gate valves from Stafsj you ensure your production thanks
to products that comply with the strictest quality requirements on the
market. And, not to forget, you ensure the safety of your personnel.

With exible production, on-time deliveries and local market oriented
stocks at our partners worldwide we can quickly and safely deliver what
you need. Besides this you should also expect high quality service and
support from us directly or from our sales partners.
We strive to be the most accessible, reliable and cost-effective
supplier of knife gate valves.

Product range optimized through decades

Our product range consist of 20 different models available in sizes ranging
from DN 50 up to DN 1600. We have valves in stainless steel, cast iron
or nodular iron, but we also have capacity to supply valves in a range of
high alloy materials such as Duplex, Hastelloy, SMO and Titanium. All
the valves are built up by modules and each can be customized with
material, actuator type and accessories. Some models are also available
in different pressure classes. Fully modular design also makes it easy to
uphold exibility and rst-rate operation year after year.

MP
DN 350 - DN 800
In 1928 our knife gate valve manufacturing started in close co-operation
with nearby pulp and paper mills. Now it is time for the eighth knife gate
valve generation, the MP, which is an assembled result of market driven
requirements and experienced engineering throughout the years.
The MP is a bi-directional valve in stainless steel with a preferred
pressure direction. It has a one piece body design. Just like MV this is
an all-round valve a Multi Purpose valve to be used in different types
of applications and the MPs sealing capacity further extends its eld of
applications.

MP features
The gate has a bevel edge that effectively cuts through the pulp. This
process is facilitated by the inner cavity of the valve body. In closed
position the gate is pushed against the seat which gives a secure sealing
and on the opposite side the gate support is positioned to create a bidirectional sealing.
The top work consists of aluminum beams and stainless steel tie rods
which gives good corrosion resistance and stability at manoeuvring. All
remote operated valves are supplied with gate guards in stainless steel.
The gland box is optimized with three layers of our TwinPackTM and a
box bottom scraper to give a tight sealing and to assure high operation
reliability. The gland box is also machined for maximum nish and thight
tolerances.
The valve has guiding pads in order to support and guide the gate from
DN 450.
For operation reliability in applications with corrosive or clogging media
the valve comes with integrated purge ports as standard.
The valve is equipped with gate support for bi-directional sealing. This
support is available in different material in order to customize it to
specic process conditions. The inner cavity of the body also contains
gate support cams.
MP is supplied with the retainer ring which can be combined with several
seat materials. It also offers smooth and cost-efcient maintenance.

MV
DN 50 - DN 1400
This is a true allround valve used in many types of applications. It is
modular designed and it can easilly be customized.
It comes in either one or a two piece valve body depending on valve
size. As standard MV is supplied in stainless steel or nodular iron, but it
can also be supplied in range of high alloy materials such as Titanium,
Hastelloy and SMO. MV has the retainer ring system which makes it
possible to supply it with many types of seat materials, thus optimizing
it to specic process conditions. The retainer ring can also be replaced
with a V-port for control duties.

XV
DN 50 - DN 1000
This compact bi-directional (double seated) valve resists high differential
pressures. It comes in stainless steel and either as semi lugged or as full
lugged. It has the TwinPackTM and the retainer ring system as standard.
Reduced cavities gives good ow characteristics.

HL, HG, HP and HPT

DN 80 - DN 1000
These are reliable valves for pulp concentrations up to 18% and also for
other difcult duties where there is a risk for clogging. The valves are
bi-directional and has a through-going gate to assure closure through
static media.
HL is the slim line version of our well known HG and HP is a high
pressure version of HG. HPT is entirely made in Titanium and offers
outstanding corrosion resistance.
All versions has a two piece valve body with purge ports and integrated
guiding pads. PTFE body gaskets gives a secure sealing between the body
halves and Stafsjs unique gland box packing, TwinPack, gives a secure
sealing where the gate exit the valve body and assures that no media
reaches surrounding environment.

D2G
DN 100 - DN 700
For contaminated pulp or reject handling which requires full bore and extremly fast manouvring, this D2G valve is an excellent choice. The valve
is designed of a two piece valve body in stainless steel with unique sliding faces positioned between the gate and housing halves in order to
minimize friction. D2G is equipped with two hard chromed gates working
towards each other in the bore for fast opening/closure.

RKO
DN 100 - DN 700
The RKO valve is reliable and particularly well suited for really demanding
reject and other abrasive waste. The valve has a circular inlet and a
square outlet and the gate has a rectangular shape and a bevel edge.
This special shut-off design prevent it from clogging, which often is a
problem in combination with junk traps, coarse reject and cleaners.
RKO comes in a robust two piece valve body in cast iron or stainless
steel with integrated purge ports. As standard it is supplied with a hard
chromed gate in Duplex stainless steel, exchangeable guide strips,
TwinPackTM and the retainer ring system. For the toughest process
conditions, the valve can also be supplied with double gland for optimal
operating performance. If needed, the valve can be supplied with an
adaptor cone on the square side for welding connection or for connection
to a circular ange.

JT
DN 100 - DN150/DN 250
As a complete Junk Trap, the JT is an excellent choice. It consist of a
standard RKO on the inlet side and specially designed valve called JTV
on the outlet side. In between the valves is a specially designed reject
tank installed. The tank has ush connections for water or air and sight
glasses for inspection. All parts are designed and optimized for the most
extreme process conditions.
