This 15th special volume of the noted international series, Recent Advances in Pediatrics, first
launched in 1991 and now
concurrently in its 15th annual volume, aims at covering the vital topical issues in pediatric
nephrology that have
witnessed significant progress in the past decade or so. The 12 state-of-the-art chapters contributed
by 14 distinguished
science of the cardiac physical examination, to dispel myths and confusion and to help develop skills
required of any
astute clinician. The book The Art and Science of Cardiac Physical Examination comprise of total
fourteen chapters.
First chapter provides discussion on various reasons for which cardiac assessment is sought, cardiac
symptoms and their
points to a focused cardiac physical examination. The focus of second chapter is on physiology,
assessment and the
practical points in the clinical assessment of the arterial pulse. Blood pressure and its measurement
has been provided in
third chapter. Fourth chapter presents the physiology of the normal jugular venous pulse contours
and the pathophysiology
