Abstract Increasing populations require every acre of farmland to produce the highest yields possible.
The purpose of the NA2050 Performance Trial is to evaluate its use on soybean varieties for yield and
other agronomic characteristics. This evaluation gives soybean farmers comparative information for
their production systems. The NA2050 has favorable effects on the physical, chemical and biological
characteristics of soil, and increases the efficacy of fertilizers and herbicides alike. The findings herein
indicate that Arcadias NA2050 Fulvic Nutrient Activator has clear promotional effects on plant
growth and marketable harvest, increasing yield by 32% over nontreated fields.

BACKGROUND
Humic substances (HS) are the least understood
component of soil, yet one of the most important
materials found in a healthy balanced soil system.
Current practices in agriculture, industry, and
wastewater management have reduced, removed or
inhibited these valuable molecules from our daily
intake. The heavy and repeated use of chemicals in
large agriculture has caused imbalance of the soil
ecology by depleting the organic matter.
To combat this, standard fertilizer programs are used
to supply soils with various amounts of nutrients.
Nitrogen results in vigorous growth and a plant's
dark green color. Phosphorus promotes improved
crop quality, healthy root growth and earlier crop
maturity. Potassium enables plants to withstand
extreme temperatures, drought, diseases and pests.
A well-balanced supply of these nutrients increases
yields and enhances crop quality, both of which are
necessary to support growing demand. It is
therefore pertinent to determine if applying NA2050
with such fertilizers and other plant nutrients will
enhance their absorption and uptake. Arcadias

Nutrient Activator is intended for use in agricultural

purposes to carry its fulvic acid, trace minerals, trace
elements, amino acids, and organic acids as part of
its molecular complexes in ideal natural form to be
absorbed by plant cells.
The purpose of this study is to quantify the effect of
adding Arcadias NA2050 to soybeans, and to
determine if such application improves plant's root
production, leaf and stem growth, flowering and
fruiting, and resistance to pests and disease.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

Field Plot Design
The entries for each test site were planted in a
complete-block design. Each entry was replicated 14
times and planted in plots 70 yards long and 70
yards wide, where applicable or otherwise to the
determined 1 acre measure, seeded at 15-inch row
widths. All sites had corn as the previous crop and
were tilled prior to seeding.

A preliminary pH reading for respective sites ranged

between 6.1 and 6.3. Post-emergence herbicide was
applied, according to weed management guidelines,
to all test sites when weeds were between 2 and 8
tall.
Plant Materials
RS7283 Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield soybeans
were purchased from Rupp Seeds. Northern Early
Sites were seeded between 18-May and 23-May.
Harvest date ranged between 21-Sept and 25-Sep.
Treatment with NA2050 Nutrient Activator
The stock solution was diluted at a rate of one (1)
quart per acre into twenty (20) gallons of filtered
water. A flood nozzle was used to apply the Nutrient
Activator solution to the plants prior to flower
emergence. The solution was applied on plants after
allowing appropriate time to dry from the morning
dew.

selected samples

RESULTS
Test sites were compared throughout the growing
season to measure agronomic characteristics.
Quantification of such characteristics can be found in
Figure 3.
Germination and plant emergence, on average,
occurred in the Test group sooner and at higher
rates than the Control group. Vigorous plant growth
occurred in the Test group early in the season,
resulting in taller and larger plants. The plants of the
Test group, throughout the growing cycle, had Good
to Very Good standability, with thick and sturdy
stems that developed lush, dark green color.
Figure 1 shows a random sample from each of the
test groups that were representative of their parcels.
The Test group was rated Tall and Medium Tall,
where applicable, as compared to

the Control group was a uniformly Medium height.

Figure 1 also shows the root development in the
crops. An increase in absorption and uptake of
nutrients would lead to more abundant plant roots.
They in turn support higher moisture retainage in
the soil and an exchange of bioavailability of
essential minerals in the soil.

Most importantly, was the effect on marketable

yield, as measured by bushels per acre of harvested
soybeans. The Test group resulted in a 32% higher
mean bu/ac yield than the Control group, ranging
from 75-83 bushels; the average yield was 80 bu/ac,
as compared to the 60.8 bu/ac average yield in the
Control group parcels. The control group yield
ranged between 57 63.5 bu/ac.

At harvest, the relative height differences between

the two groups remained the same. In conjunction
with the larger plants, the Test group developed
more pods and proportionately more beans per pod
than the Control group, as presented in Figure 2.
While both test groups had an attractive fall
appearance, the sites treated with the NA2050
Nutrient Activator were more stress tolerant and
maintained vigor until harvest.

NA2050 Nutrient Activator acted as an organic

catalyst to improve the uptake and effectiveness of
the minerals in the soil and the efficacy of the
herbicide that was applied. Nutrient Activator's
powerful chelation action helped keep essential
elements and minerals available and mobile within
the plants for the duration of the growth cycle.
