After several discussions and meetings within the community, we successfully established the Rohingya
Refugee Committee (RRC) as above.
Background

We (Rohingya) are those citizens of Myanmar who have been denied citizenship right as well as
human rights for generation. Violation, exploitation and torture have been increased since 2012,
many Rohingya people fled to neighboring countries to escape from violation in home country.
Similarly, Rohingya people came to India during and before 2012 with the hope to have peaceful
life and entertain with Refugee right under UNHCR mandate.
Fortunately, UNHCR has recognized many of Rohingya people as refugee since 2012.
Government of India is offering Long Term Visa to Rohingya refugees for their further
protection.
No matter we hold LTV and refugee ID, we dont belong any legal identity from home country to
recognize us as migrant from particular nation whereas Government of India consider Rohingya
as migrant of Myanmar and Myanmar Embassy India frequently fail to accept Rohingyas as
citizens of Myanmar.
We have been in India nearly a decade but situation remain uncertain and suffering is
continued. We come to know that we need a leading committee inclusively for our community
to benefitfacility provided by UNHCR, UNHCR IPs, NGOs as well as Government in India. We
need a committee that stand for the whole Rohingya refugees with following principal,
independence, transparency, proximity, and accountability.

Purpose
1. To provide hand to improve the situation of the Community.
2. To empower women for equal access into each field ensuring their security and entertain equal
rights as men.
3. Healthy coordination with UNHCR and other services that allow our community to benefit their
services.
4. To strengthen committee for the sufficient leadership to our community.
5. To enable children have significant access to education.
6. To facilitate our community to gain knowledge in the area of health and legal awareness as well
as national law of India.
