The WEST BENGAL STATE COOPERATIVE BANK LIMITED (WBSCB) is a
Scheduled and Licensed State Partnered Bank and is a Premiere Cooperative
Banking Institution in the State of West Bengal, catering, among others, to the
agricultural credit needs of the farmer-members of Primary Agricultural
Cooperative Societies (PACS) through the 17 Central Cooperative Banks (CCBs)
and three Regional offices of the West Bengal State Cooperative Bank.
As of 31st March 2009, the Deposits base of the WBSCB is of the order of Rs
3,368.49 crores; Loans and Advances aggregating to Rs 2170.16 crores and
Working Fund of Rs 4,882.62 crores.
The WBSCB is running at profit
continuously for years together. During 2008-09 it registered a growth of 74% in
profit and booked PBT of the order of Rs.25.23 crores. The Banks Net Worth is
of the order of Rs.139 crores. WBSCB has a network of 43 branches, 3 Regional
office spread over the Kolkata Metro, North 24-Parganas, South 24-Parganas
and Coochbehar districts. Most of the branches are computerized and it is going
for Centralized Banking under the Core Banking Solution (CBS).
The Board of Management of the WBSCB consists of democratically elected
Directors coming from CCBs and other societies, nominees from the state
government, Chief General Manager of NABARD, RO, employees Director and
Managing Director. The Chief General Manager and General Managers, who are
the senior most officers of the Bank, will be directly reporting to the Managing
Director on all the functional areas of the WBSCB
In the context of implementation of Prof. Vaidyanathan Committee
recommendations as a part of restructuring of the Cooperatives, among others,
the WBSCB has to appoint a Managing Director, fulfilling the Fit & Proper
Criteria fixed by RBI, on contract / deputation basis from the open market.
The WBSCB invites applications for the post of Managing Director from
persons possessing the following age, qualifications and experience.
The
appointment will be for an initial period of three years on contract / deputation
basis. The details regarding eligibility conditions are as under:

Age: Shall not be preferably above 55 years of age as on 01.01.2010.

Educational Qualifications. (a) Essential: Shall have minimum
educational qualification in any of the following fields: (i) A Graduate with
CAIIB/DBF/Diploma in Cooperative Business Management or equivalent
qualification, or (ii) Chartered/Cost Accountant, or (iii) Post graduate in any
discipline.
(b) Desirable: Should be well conversant with DOS, MS Office, Internet and
computerized banking including Core Banking Solution (CBS)

Work Experience: Shall have at least eight years work experience at the
middle/senior level in the Banking Sector.
4)
General: (i) The appointment will be on deputation/contract basis initially
for a period of 3 years. (ii) The application should be submitted in the
prescribed format only. (iii) Candidates working in Government/Public Sector
Undertakings/ Autonomous Organisations / Cooperatives / Voluntary
Organisations should apply through proper channel. In case they anticipate any
delay in forwarding their applications, they may submit advance copies before
the last date. (iv) A recent passport size photo is to be pasted on the application
in the space provided. (v) Application should be accompanied by attested true
