In the world there are many souls that are looking for meaning on their life but not

many
of them find it. Some of them find it through God and the Cross, and others, for some unique
situation, doubt of His existence .One example is the movie "do you believe?", its about 12
different stories, moving in different directions, which intersect unexpectedly, discover the power
of the Cross of God, even if they do not believe. Yet. The film brings different issues regarding
faith. Three of these issues that I saw in the movie was how people start to believe and have faith
when they are situated in a situation between life and death, as people after passing through
difficult situations in life, doubts about God and his power and how people look for Him when
they need something from Him.
There are many people that start believing in the Cross of God when they are life or death
situation. In the movie, there many examples where its exposed this theme. I can visualized it
when a man who is going to die, begs for forgiveness of God so he can go to heaven. Also, when
Maggie (pregnant teenager) give birth to a girl in the car after the accident and she is dying
because of blood lost, start telling Pastor Matthew to promise her that heaven does exist and that
she is going to heaven now that she does believe. Another example can be when Andrea (nonbeliever lawyer) almost die in the accident on the end of the movie and she start having faith
when she was rescued by the man she was ruining just for being a believer, Bobby (the
paramedic).
People sometimes go through difficult situation in which can make them question about
God and his power. In the movie, I can see this powerful impact in life. An example is when
Samantha (single mother) start telling Joe (ex-convicted) that the God doesnt exist because if

he does exist, he would take her husband and he had been able to stop the situation where she
lost her house and job. Another scene is where Teri (mother of the death girl) tells J.D (her
husband, father of the girl) that where was God when their daughter was in an accident in where
she got hit by a drunk driver and she lost her life. She keeps questioning why God took her away
from them and that way he didnt stop it or prevented from happening.
Some people even if they have seen with their own eyes the miracles and power of God,
they still dont believe or have faith on Him. An example can be when Dr. Farrell (non-believer
doctor) start having signals that God do exist. These same character we can view that he even if
he saw a live miracle of Joes fourth stage leukemia disappear in thin air and that after 8 minutes
if being dead , he comes back to live felling cured. He still doesnt believe and insists that
there is a scientific explanation to that situation.
In my opinion, is that the movie was a great movie where we can, at list, identify with a
character. The movie gives you point of view where the faith is corrupting or its just a powerful
energy of the scene of the story. My personal opinion is that Do you believe begs believers to
remember that faith is never supposed to be just an idea or a feeling, but a conviction that
transforms the way we live day to day, a belief that reshapes our values and choices.
