Synergy 2010: “Catalyst”

Hey Everyone!
Greeting from NYC! I hope this letter finds you doing well and enjoying the Lord! I am excited to share with
you many of the exciting things going on in NYC!
This month we had our annual leadership event called “Synergy” in which we train,encourage, equip,
plan and pray for the different ministries within the metro. This theme of this year’s Synergy was
“CATALYST-Sparking change to those around you through the power of the gospel!” We en-
couraged students to seek to be catalyst for Christ on their campus and among their friends. The day went
very well as students were inspired and encouraged to serve the Lord and to make Him known.
Synergy was especially special for me because we had the privilege of hearing Victoria’s testimony.
Victoria is the student at FIT who many of you prayed for earlier this year. Victoria came to know Christ a
few months ago and is growing in her relationship with the Lord. Synergy was the first time she had ever
shared her story and it was AMAZING!
As the semester is coming to a close I could really use your prayers in several ways. This
summer I will be helping to direct with 3 other staff the NYC Tribeca Summer Project.
Tribeca Summer Project is a huge endeavor in which students and staff from all over come
to NYC to minister to international students, asian-American students, the less fortunate of
the inner city, and to reach out to the 140 campuses in the city. My role will be to direct the
overall project and to develop and equip the 50 staff coming into the city to serve. Please
pray in advance for the summer project that God would be glorified and that many lives in
NYC would be changed as a result of the project. Pray that God would use us to see His king-
dom come in NYC.
Another way you can be praying for me is for my financial support. As you know work-
ing and serving in NYC is an amazing adventure and God is definitely at work. However, this
doesn’t come without cost. Please pray that the Lord would supply all of my needs and that I
can trust Him for His perfect provision!

WIN-BUILD-SEND
Synergy was based on a 3 fold vision, “Win-Build-Send.” We wanted students to learn how to Win students
for Christ, to build them up in their faith, and to equip and send them out in the city, campus and world to be
laborers for a lifetime! After each session we encouraged students to write down one or
two action points and put them up the “Catalyst” wall!

WIN
We encouraged students to reach out to their
friends and peers on campus by becoming more of a
movement vs.a club. We challenged students to write
down names of friends,family, peers that they want to
see come to Christ.
I wrote down the names of the FIT students
who are involved with the seeker Bible study group I
help Cami lead. Please continue to pray for Le-
on,Miguel, Kayla, Sing,Mikey, and Billy as they ex-
plore Christianity with us. Pray that God would open
the eyes of their hearts to know Him personally.
This semester we are really digging into scriptures
and topics such as “Is the Bible reliable?” “Who is
Jesus?” and “What is means to know God personally!

BUILD
We encouraged students to pray and consider ways
they can build one another up in love and to estab-
lish community within their movements!

SEND We encouraged students to pray

and consider ways God can use them to influence ar- PRAY for MIGUEL,SING,KAYLA, LEON, +BILLY!

-Pray that I can finish the semester strong
