Past few centuries until now, technology has affected the society in many different

ways and it is obvious that nowadays the machines are replacing the human labor
slowly in carrying out every task in everyday activities. Many researches have be
done to show the impacts of technology on human daily lives as well as human
nature itself. Indeed, today there are many problems which are no longer be able to
solve with human capabilities. Therefore, technology has becoming a very useful
tool for human to achieve the impossible mission. In fact, the environments that we
grew in actually surround by high tech machines and most of the time, we need it to
do some simple things in our lives, such as making phone calls, searching for
information, and watching television. However, there are always constant debates
about the positive and negative effects of technology towards the humanity.
Although the sophisticated technologies have significantly improved our living
standard, it still has its own drawbacks which some people feel skeptical to support
the advancement of technologies in their lives. Hence, this paper will discuss the
benefits and disadvantages of the technology in humanity.

In fact, technology has giving a positive impact toward the manufacturing industry
whereby it eases the processes and transformed the method on how we tend to
produce a product. In fact, Gigerenzer (2001) mentioned that digital devices, such
as internet and computer have change both our real and digital life, as it can help
us in many ways. For instance, information required can be found from the websites
related and difficult equation can be solved by computer. Furthermore, technology
also has brought us to a level whereby cloning is possible in the biological
breakthrough. On the other hand, Chen, David, and Gligorescu (2011) quoted that
the advancement of technology in the globalization era has played a significant part
in the economic growth of major industrial parties. The progress of these
companies economic status provides them a stepping stone in creating many new
sectors which can benefits the society by providing more job opportunities.
Furthermore, the breakthrough in science and technology has given edges to many
countries in the military field as it assists to develop better weapons in protecting
the country. Edwards (1994) highlighted that between year 1946 to 1956, MIT
Whirlwind had become the most crucial invention and the engineer, Jay Forrester
led the project which was an analog computer at start that was applied to simulate
air flight path and help the military operation during the war. The project was
funded by the U.S. Navy. Moreover, Onasanya (2002) stated that computers have
played an important part in integrating the operation and aided the data
management as well as numerical computation in research and education. Indeed,
this function is quite useful as well in various field such as offices, banks and
factories. The technology can even benefit in medical fields, such as solving
diagnostic problems, illustrating illnesses (such as cancerous cell), and completing
medical training for the future doctors.

Certainly, computes have led to many noteworthy effects to our daily routine. There
are few reasons on why the computers are introduced in many ways in our lives.

One of these form is in the robotic form. Undeniably, robots have supported
impressively towards both big and small businesses. Chen et al. (2011) cited that
robots have becoming an attractive solution for most manufacturing industries as it
has the capability to perform hard and boring routines for a longer period without
any errors. Not only that, it is also able to conduct a work in harsh condition which
influence many parties to utilized robots in their businesses. Besides that, robots
also do not need expensive health care insurances and they are seldom failed if
proper maintenance is given. Hence, it can give advantages to both small and big
companies in the world. In fact, it generated more trade option to the business such
as producing and selling new specialized equipment and software (Hunt, 1983).
Nevertheless, it also some drawbacks which it brings competition to those
companies that unable to afford the technology financially and force the companies
to foreclose as they are unable to compete with other powerhouse companies. On
the contrary, Edward quoted that, The bankers in the United Kingdom installed
computers as a section of the main idea part-away from the craft-apprenticeship
figure towards a rationalized industrial-production figure. Computers made it easier
to progress the specialization of tasks and the automation of many jobs once done
by humans. Based on the information given, it is proved that the application of
computer is spreading like a wildfire and unsurprisingly people tend to accept the
result coming from the computers. Being said that, there are still different opinions
in dealing the data provided by the computers. As a matter of fact, Nickerson and
Reilly (2004) mentioned that making decision whether to have faith in a machine
and accept its tips depends on our view on the machine. On the other hand, we may
assume that the way humans interact with machines is different from how they do
with their other fellow human-beings. It is also obvious that we as humans interact
differently according to the type of machine we are dealing with and whether it is
familiar and safe. Additionally, technology has connected people all around the
world through computers and internet. Nowadays, third world countries, like Nigeria
take advantages from technology to revolutionize the country itself. It is elaborated
that human lives have been influenced greatly and positively by the existence of
technology as people can use it anytime wherever they want.

Based on the literature from the past researches, it is highlighted that many
researchers have different opinions on the usage of technology in daily routines.
However, most of them agreed that technology has positive aspect towards
humanity as mentioned before. Hence, we can pinpoint that the facts and theories
have positive aspects to support the application of technology. Ayres et al. (1981)
mentioned that the industrial robots played a key role in the improvement of
working life by replacing labors, which performed hazardous assignment in harsh
condition. Despite that, Ayres et al. also described that the utilization of technology
also has its own downsides. One of the disadvantages is that it will decrease the job
opportunity for the non-educated workers as for instance, industrial robots have
replaced them to do the simple, boring and repetitive routines in their jobs. In fact,
the robots have less errors compared to human being. Therefore, investors tend to
vote for industrial robot instead of human labor (Chen et al., 2011).

Technology also have impact the educational sector in a good way. In fact,
technology has becoming a contributing factor which increase the number of
educated people in the world. Not only helping the fortunate ones, technology also
help those who are physically challenged in their education. For example, many
educational centers provide computers which are designed especially for the
disabled people so that they have the same education chances compared to others.
Moreover, Onasanya (2002) mentioned that the presence of computer affects the
children in Nigeria to have motivation to study and improve the development of the
community. In fact, it helps the third world countries, such as Nigeria to be more
developed that before. On the contradiction, many people lose their job as the
automated robots gives the companies a better productivity rates that the human
labor. Likewise, technology, like computer cannot respond like a human, therefore
they unable to solve emergency problems by itself unless it is operated by human
being. Thus, the situation opens job chances for the IT technicians, and yet
rundowns those work as labors and handymen as they need to keep their families
well fed too. Henceforth, governments should have a contingency plan to make sure
that everyones life will not be affected by the betterment of technology.

In conclusion, it is crystal clear that technology has becoming a vital part to our
nowadays generation. Indeed, children who were born in this era, are blessed with
the progression of technology and yet they need to be wise to make choices, and do
good things with these technologies. In reality, there are still many countries are
underdeveloped as many tribal people still have no exposure towards technology.
Consequently, they are excluded from the effects that mentioned in this paper.
Most of the researches agreed that technology has changed human life in a positive
approach. It has modernized and led to a renaissance to the humanity. It is also
obvious that despite all the advantages that technology possesses, people still
cannot be ignorant towards its negative impacts towards our society. Although it
brings many improvement towards our lives, we have to find a balanced point to
make sure that it does not backfire to the humanity. By the end on the day,
technology has worked very well in conveying communication throughout the world
and bringing unity all over the world. It eases the society to overcome the racial,
continental and culture barriers. In short, the technology has brought many positive
effects than negative ones.
