What is the levy you’re requesting and why?

The district is asking for approval of a 1 % school district income
tax on earned income only.
Vote Yes—May 4 The revenue this levy would generate is essential for the district’s
day-to-day operations. This money would not be used for any type
of building projects in the district.

vote to rescind the property taxes prior to expiration on December
31, 2012.
If the district does not pass this levy in this calendar year there will
be additional reductions to teaching and support staff.
Without additional revenue we will be plunged into a financial cri-
sis that could mean state control and/or the state loan fund to maintain
minimum standards of education.

plan is to take both off the books at the end of calendar year 2012.
