DNA Test Data: Explanation of Terms:

Genetic Genetic System – Also known as a genetic location or locus,
System RC1_226S1 RC1_226S2 Outcome it represents a position on a chromosome that has been
DYS456 15 15 Match found to exhibit a variation of DNA types.

DYS389i 14 14 Match Alleles – The number displayed for a genetic location are
DYS390 25 25 Match known as an allele. These numbers represent the genetic
contribution that has been passed from parent to offspring.
DYS389ii 31 31 Match
DYS458 16 16 Match Y Chromosome Database – A large number of individuals
who have been tested using the same genetic systems. The
DYS19 15 15 Match allele profile for each individual is known as a haplotype.
DYS385a 11 11 Match
Haplotype Frequency – The number of times a haplotype is
DYS385b 13 13 Match found in the database.
DYS393 13 13 Match
Probability of Paternal Line – This percentage represents the
DYS391 11 11 Match strength of one’s belief that the tested people are related
DYS439 10 10 Match based solely on the genetic evidence. It assumes that the
prior probability is 50% in the case. In other words, prior to

DYS392 11 11 Match likely to have occurred in the case.

Conclusion:
The results of the Y-chromosome DNA test indicate that these individuals cannot be excluded from being
male line relatives. The probability of paternal line relationship is 99.97% as compared to an untested and
unrelated man of an ethnically diverse population.

Note: Establishment of the chain of custody begins at the time of collection of the samples. In order to preserve the chain of custody all collections of samples must have been performed or witnessed by a
competent collector with no interest in the test outcome. This disqualifies spouses, children of the person being tested, other family members, friends and any person having any relationship to any of the
persons being tested. It is also expected that the competent collector has packaged and transferred the samples to the laboratory. Failure to comply with these measures may render this report
inadmissible in a court of law.
