MY SCHOOL HYSTORY
Academia de las Amricas School was created in 2007 to the idea of two people to
want to satisfy the needs of the community in the neighborhood. First the school
was located in the Iglesias Cuadrangular because Necith Diaz, who is the
coordinator of Academy, works with a nun.
The school was called Gad Kit and started with a group of 35 students between 2
and 7 years old.
The next year was opening two classrooms more and came two new teachers.
For 2009, in the school had from pre-kinder to transition graders.
The objective of school was to have an education in English language.
Nowadays the school was called Academia de las Americas and has groups from
pre-kinder to fourth graders and has professionals teachers who are attendant of
education of children.

secundaria para formar estudiantes con capacidad crtica, reflexiva y analticas
comprometidos con la excelencia acadmica, los valores, el respeto por la familia,
el servicio y el trabajo por la paz capaces de interactuar en la sociedad globalizada
usando las tecnologas de la informacin y comunicacin, haciendo nfasis en el
idioma ingls
VALORES INSTITUCIONALES
Para que el Proyecto Educativo Institucional alcance sus objetivos se deben poner
en prctica los valores institucionales, que sern tenidos en cuenta en cada una
de las reas y asignaturas del plan de estudios dentro y fuera de la institucin, a
travs del ejemplo y la bsqueda constante de la perfeccin:
a) Responsabilidad: ser consiente y asumir con seriedad y prudencia las
consecuencias que tiene todo lo que se hace o se deja de hacer sobre la
persona misma o sobre los dems. Desde el inicio hasta el final.
b) Respeto: tener consideracin consigo mismo, con los dems y con el medio
ambiente, acatando las normas sociales, valorando y protegiendo todo lo que
produzca admiracin.
c) Convivencia: consideracin a los dems como ser humano, teniendo como
ejes la participacin y la responsabilidad democrtica, orientados hacia la toma
de decisiones respetando los derechos fundamentales de todos, los acuerdos,
las normas, las leyes y la constitucin.
d) Confianza: gozarn de la presuncin de la buena fe todas las actuaciones que
adelanten los miembros de la comunidad educativa con el Centro Educativo
Academia de las Amricas.
e) Servicio: el Centro Educativo Academia de las Amricas est al servicio de la
comunidad educativa, sin ms inters que el de prestar un servicio de calidad
para todos los usuarios.
Academia de las Amricas is a primary school with religious basis that educate
students able to meet the current needs of the community. The academy is
committed to academic excellence putting in practice the values of school.
The school has views to integral formation of students to interact in a global
society, secure the communicative skills with emphasis in English Language.

BEHAVIOUR
Students of 1st and 2nd graders are very respectful and responsible all the time.
Children have an excellent relationship with their teachers and their classmates
and they always keep the rules.
Some students have a problem of behavior, but in the school does following to
those students can improve and be correct students.
Children are interested to learn English Language and they are always excited with
all lessons and practice the idiom inside and outside of the academy.
ACADEMIC
Students of 1st and 2nd are not all in the same level because there are students that
have attention problems and that dont allow them to have an excellent academic
performance. But other students have an excellent level in the English language
despite their short ages. They are always attendant in class and participate of the
activities during the class.
Children have previous knowledge like some vocabularies and that facilitates
learning. Is important emphasize that the academy has like objective teach to
students to be bilingual.

KWL ANALYSIS
Students have previous knowledge like present simple, personal information
and large vocabulary like colors, family, school supplies, fruits, alphabet, and
animals among other. Students should learn, how is the correct
pronunciation and use of those topics inside and outside in the school
context.
