it. Anyone who is part of the 10 week draw is on an agents
book.

prizes each week, 50.00 & 25.00. There is an agents prize
of 5.00 for the two winning agents each week (so worth
being an agent!).

number of people in the draw, because of Charity Law.)

Our old parish minibus.
We have been meaning to put something on the newsletter about our old faithful minibus. A few people noticed that for
a few days we had both the old and new minibus in the car park
then the old one disappeared! It hasnt been scrapped. It still
had 9 months valid MOT on it, and so it has a new home! We
have given it to St Marys Parish in Burnley (so if you are in
Burnley you might see it running around up there!). They were
delighted to have the chance to do what we didto establish if
there is a need for a minibus without spending a lot of money.
We hope it serves them as well as it served us for the past eight
years.

As our newsletter is being prepared, the Pope Francis latest

Apostolic Exhortation on The
Joy of Love is being released

EXTRA CAR PARKING ON SUNDAY MORNINGS
A few weeks ago Mr Harrison and myself had a conversation about how busy the car park and the streets around
Church are on a Sunday morning. This is as a result of the
good news that we have more and more people attending
Mass here at Guardian Angels each weekend. So, reflecting
the school/parish partnership, Mr Harrison has very kindly
offered us the use of the School Playground every Sunday
morning for overflow parking at the 8.45 am and 10.30 am
Masses.
So, heres how it will work, beginning from next Sunday
The gates into the school playground (accessible only
from Melrose Avenue) will be opened at approximately 8.15
am in time for people arriving for the 8.45 am Mass.
The gates to the playground will be locked by the
minibus team when they arrive back after taking people
home on the minibus after the 10.30 am Mass.
Once you have parked your car (please dont just
abandon them all over the place in there!) you can get to
Church by either walking to the main playground gates and
coming back up Melrose Avenue, and coming into the
Church grounds by means of the double gates by the Parish
Centre where we parked the old minibus, or by going
through the pedestrian entrance from the playground onto
Leigh Lane.
I am very keen that we use this opportunity to also do
our bit for the neighbourhoodit will mean a significant
reduction in the number of cars parked on the streets around
our church, and make it easier for our neighbour.
We already have a volunteer who will open up the
playground and we have asked our minibus teams to lock it
up again. Is there anyone who, at least for the first few
weeks of our new procedures, would like to help us out by
being in the playground to help people park up in an orderly
way. We would need some one at both masses in order to get
as many cars in there as possible (well even provide a highviz jacket!!!!) if interested just call the Office! Thanks.
