Air Force as a Medical
Technician. Ric works full
time at Home Depot in
Phoenix, AZ. He enjoys
reading, watching football
(Go Steelers!) and
traveling.
Susan Guinn-
Lahm, MA, CRC, LPC
Susan is a native of Ajo, AZ
where she works as the
Lead Behavioral Health
Clinician at Desert Senita
Community Health Center
(DSCHC). Susan provide
general mental health
counseling services,
specializing in patient’s
behavioral changes to
compliment their medical
treatment.
Kaity’s Way Goes to the Beach at MYFest
On Saturday, April 3, 2010,
Kaity‟s Way hosted a table at
MYFest „10, hosted by
MYLIFE, at Tempe Town Lake
in Tempe, AZ. MYFest ‟10
marked the third annual event
sponsored by MYLIFE--
Magellan Youth Leaders
Inspiring Future
Empowerment. MYLIFE gives
youth an opportunity use their
experience, talents and voice
to make positive changes in
their lives while helping others
to do the same through
Magellan of Arizona.
Magellan of Arizona is
dedicated to improving the
lives of youth who have
experience living with mental
illness and/or substance
abuse.
MY LIFE is made up of youth
between the ages of 13 and
23 who have experience with
mental health, substance
abuse and/or foster care-
related issues. Through
regular meetings, local and

improve behavioral health
care in Maricopa County.
Kaity‟s Way was centrally
located in the heart of the
event, easily accessible to the
approximately 5,000
participants, speaking to
youths and adults about
students asked great
questions and had shared
words of encouragement for
Bobbi, as documented on the
surveys they filled out. Some
of the kind words they had to
say were:

good education tool.”

more about available
resources related to foster
care, substance abuse and
mental health. There was
strong sponsor support from
local radio station Power 98
who hosted a break dance
battle, the Phoenix Sun‟s
Gorilla, and various health
services groups, Census
volunteers and local schools.

According to the 47 surveys
filled out by the students, 37
or 79% of the students knew
of or knows someone in an
abusive relationship.
