5 Hour Lecture

Prerequisite Subject:

Integral Calculus
Physics 1

Course Description:

Statics and dynamics; operations with the free body

concepts; equilibrium of coplanar and non-coplanar force
systems; analysis of frames and trusses; friction; centroids
and moment of inertia; motion of particles and rigid bodies;
force, mass and acceleration.

Course Objectives:

1.

To know and to apply the basic concepts of mechanics

and the principles relating force and its components,
moments and Newton's Law of Motion.

2.

To demonstrate knowledge on procedures on how to

analyze forces acting on structures.

3.

To discover the physics of rectilinear, curvilinear and

rotating bodies.
