Establishing and maintaining spreadsheets, presentation software, database and
manual filing systems.
Preparing student enrollment reports.
Producing quarterly publications, composing correspondence, and contributing to
program events.
Coordinating the book borrow program, the program testing/admission system, and the
advisor schedule matrix.
Requires excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and computing skills.
Requires punctual and regular attendance.
Other duties as assigned.

SALARY & BENEFITS


Range 37, full-time salary starting at $2,482 per month with periodic increments to $3,213 per month.
Benefits include life, health, dental and long-term disability insurance, state retirement plan, vacation
and sick leave and holiday pay.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Good oral and written communication skills to establish positive interactions with
students, parents, high school counselors, faculty, and staff.
Positive telephone and interpersonal skills.
Detail oriented, accurate, and able to organize complex tasks.
Advanced computer skills: Access, Excel, Word, Publisher, Power Point and Web.
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time customer service
experience which includes direct customer service and data entry OR equivalent
education/experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree preferred to demonstrate familiarity and achievement in higher


education.
Develops innovative ideas that provide solutions to all types of workplace challenges
and brings ideas to supervisor.
Earns the trust, respect, and confidence of coworkers and public through consistent
honesty, forthrightness and professionalism in all interactions.
Actively contributes to a work environment that embraces diversity and uses diverse

SHIFT AND WORKING CONDITIONS


Positions shift is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm. Indoor office environment
with many interruptions and deadlines. May have extended hours sitting at the workstation. Ability to
lift up to 25 pounds. Expected to work one Saturday in May.

UNION SHOP
In accordance with the provisions of our chapter of the WFSE Collective Bargaining Agreement, all
WCC classified employees are required to be a member of the Washington Federation of State
Employees or pay a union shop representation fee or pay a non-association fee as a condition of
employment.

SELECTION PROCESS
To apply for this position, candidates must meet the minimum competencies and complete a
Whatcom Community College application. Candidates whose backgrounds are best suited to the
duties of the position will be certified in accordance with WFSE Collective Bargaining Agreement.

may be given to finalists.
