LEARNERS DIFFERENCES: AN ITEM THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT WHEN

IMPELMENTING A GREAT VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES INSIDE THE ENGLISH CLASS.

Teaching practice is a recreational activity which involves not only teacher and students, but also
family, staff, and directors. It is well known that each school have a curriculum which is a plan that
contains everything because inside it there is found all the things related to teaching. It is mentioned
teachers, students, family, staff, and directors by the reason of curriculum should be constructed
among them. Inside the curriculum it is found the syllabus which is the plan that teachers must follow
during whole year. It means, the syllabus has all the topics that must be seen per courses.
It is evident that each teacher must take care of a great deal of factors inside the English class. One
of this is learners differences. It is a central factor that teachers of English must keep in mind owing
to there are lots of differences among learners. First, it is said that nobody has the same abilities
when learning a foreign language or in some cases the abilities are distributed among them. It
means, one student can be proficiency in speaking and listening, but not in writing and reading.
Second, all students do not have the same English level as a result of their previous experiences with
the target language differ from each one of them. It is, teachers cannot evaluate without testing the
level in which they are. Finally, taking into account the previous item it is imperative to say that
teachers must bear in mind that every material that they prepare or select should be related to
students life. In other words, it should be linked to their real context in order for them to get a
meaningful learning.
Taking into consideration the previous description, I could say that I tried to follow the items in order to
get a clear approach to students reality. In that sense, I selected ten songs for a ludic activity called
karaoke in which students in sixth course are going to learn new vocabulary, pronunciation, as well
as, they will link, compare and identify songs to their context according to the meaning of each song.
Moreover, each activity carried out must have a clear purpose in order to encourage students to
develop the activities proposed by the teacher.
In conclusion, learners differences have a crucial role in the teaching and learning process by the
reason of the great variety of factors like age, English level, learning strategies, learning styles, and
so forth. For that reason, a teacher must recognize and take advantage of this diversity in order to
improve students learning process.
