width of the rear. The extra-large rear window lets in the perfect

The Multivan offers a whole lot more than a whole lot of space.
Its unparalleled flexibility is perfect for lives that are always on
the move. With up to seven comfortable seats1), you and your passengers will appreciate the ample head and leg room, even in the
second and third rows of seats. Unique: For a rearward facing seating arrangement, the individual seats in the second row of seats2)
can simply be rotated by 360 degrees in the blink of an eye no
complicated reassembly needed (fig. 01). To create more space
for luggage or shopping, you can remove the individual seats and
the bench seat, while the numerous sets of lashing eyes prevent
your luggage from sliding around during the journey.

The Multivan with the Euro 6 TDI engine achieves especially low fuel consumption in conjunction
with the optional BlueMotion Technology efficiency package. You will find the package on Page 20.
Dual clutch gearbox DSG (not illustrated). The optional 7-speed

dual clutch gearbox DSG permits fully automatic gear changing
with no interruption in power flow, which results in significantly
increased driving comfort. The driver can choose between normal
and sport mode.

Volkswagen models with BlueMotion Technology are in line with
the Think Blue. concept: That is why every single one of the
Euro 6 engines is equipped with a start/stop system, regenerative
braking, Hill Start Assist and roll resistance-optimised tyres.
Regenerative braking (not illustrated). This recharges the vehicle

battery during overrun and braking phases, thereby relieving
strain on the engine and reducing fuel consumption.
Roll resistance-optimised tyres (not illustrated). The Multivan
makes contact with the road via tyres with optimised rolling
resistance. The low rolling resistance reduces fuel consumption,
and with it, CO2 emission.
BlueMotion Technology efficiency package (not illustrated).
Optionally, the CO2 emission can be further reduced, in addition
to the standard BlueMotion Technology measures, by lowering
the suspension, among other measures.1)

With the Multivan, drivers will have the ideal driving companion to

off normal paved roads. Its optional 4MOTION permanent allwheel drive distributes the torque between the front and rear axle
to all four wheels as needed. The result: perfect hold on the road,

4MOTION all-wheel drive. The optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive

is now fitted with the latest transmission generation. Advantages
include reduced weight, and further enhancement of vehicle
handling and dynamics.
4MOTION all-wheel drive with DSG.* The Multivan is the only
vehicle of its class available with the optional 4MOTION all-wheel
drive and 7-speed DSG dual clutch gearbox (fig. 01). Enjoy added
driving comfort when navigating mountainous terrain, thanks to
fully automatic gear changes.
Hill Descent Assist. This optional system allows you to drive down
slopes in a safe, controlled way, thanks to the engine managements
ability to govern the engine speed, and apply the brakes if necessary.
Mechanical differential lock. The optional system is available for
the rear axle together in conjunction with the optional 4MOTION
all-wheel drive. This makes starting up in adverse conditions, such
as driving off-road, much easier.

01 Leather-covered multifunction steering wheel. It gives you a good grip and is extremely user-friendly. The radio or navigation system, a mobile phone or the cruise control
can be controlled using the buttons. It features both a height and reach adjustment and
therefore allows the driver to sit comfortably, even on long journeys. Servotronic speeddependent power-assisted steering can be ordered as an option. It enhances handling
when manoeuvring and parking, and comfort when driving at higher speeds. In addition,
the power assistance is withdrawn to an ever greater degree with the aid of the electronics at higher speeds. This allows the driver to control the vehicle in a more precise and
targeted manner than with normal power steering.

01 Loading sill protection. This synthetic loading sill protection

with a high-quality stainless steel look can be easily attached, protecting the bumper from scratches that may occur during loading
and unloading. This functional design element adds a sophisticated
touch to the Multivans loading sill and contributes to maintaining

02 Bicycle carrier. This custom-fit bicycle carrier transports four

bicycles safely on the tailgate. The easy-to-secure frame is made
from an anodised aluminium profile and can carry up to 70 kg.
The sliding bicycle bars, attachment arms that can be removed
with one hand and securing feet with quick-release fasteners

03 Wind and rain deflector. When driving with the window
slightly open, the deflector effectively reduces spray and wind
noise. It also offers protection for when the sun shines from the
side. The deflectors shape is an exact match to the vehicle, and

04 Basic carrier. A lockable, city-crash-tested basic carrier made of anodised aluminium

profile bars is available for the Multivan. It is designed for a load of up to 45 kg, and can

07 Luggage net. The tear-resistant, elastic net is simply secured to the standard lashing
eyes in the luggage compartment using the integrated hooks. This ensures that small and

05 Ski and snowboard holder. The lockable ski holder can be mounted to the basic carrier,
and allows you to transport up to six pairs of skis, four snowboards or one wakeboard.
The wide opening buttons and convenient pull-out function make loading and unloading

08 Luggage compartment liner. The light, flexible insert precisely fits the contours of the
Multivan. A raised rim of approx. 5 cm around the edge provides protection from moisture
and dirt. The diamond pattern on the liner has a non-slip effect. When not in use, the liner

06 Roof box. The large boxes in Titanium Metallic are easy to secure thanks to the quickrelease fasteners on the basic carrier, and have a capacity of either 340 or 460 litres. The

seat system offers newborn babies and infants up to 15 months (or weighing up to
13 kg) a high level of comfort and optimum
protection. The seats frame, which is firmly
secured to the vehicle using the ISOFIX
mounting points, is a base for the portable
seat shell. The individual seat adjustments
and the height-adjustable 5-point harness
ensure that the infant is safely secured in
the seat shell. This seat system also has a
removable sunshade, an adjustable carrying
handle and a fabric cover that can easily

10 G1 ISOFIX DUO child seat plus Top

Tether. This comfortable seat system offers
children from 8 months up to 4 years old
(or 9 to 18 kilograms) optimal support. The
individually adjustable seat position and
height-adjustable harness ensure that the
child is safely secured in the seat shell.
The seat is secured to the ISOFIX mounting
points and to an additional top tether anchor point on the rear bench seat.

11 G2-3 ISOFIT child seat. This comfortable

child seat provides ideal support for children between 3 and 12 years of age (15 to
36 kg). The special design of the seat sides
also assures the best possible protection.
The seat is attached using the vehicles

06 Electric step. When opening and closing the sliding doors the electric step automatically moves in or out. The robust step made of aluminium ripple plate with a load capacity
of 300 kg and the reliable obstacle shut-off system ensure safety. The electric step is only
