OBJECTIVE STATEMENT .

I recently graduated from The Robert Gordon University with an honours degree in Management.
After graduation I chose to travel around the world to broaden my horizons, meet new people and
learn more about myself by getting out my comfort zone. I have recently returned and I desire a job
within a fast paced work environment with the prospect of future career advancement. I believe the
experience gained throughout my four years at university combined with the challenges I faced
while travelling will stand me in good stead for a new and challenging role within the marketing
world.

SKILLS PROFILE .

• Built and currently maintain a website using wordpress.


• Long familiar with social media sites and a keen interest in new ways they can grow a business.
• Studied e-marketing throughout my course and have good knowledge of new social media
marketing, and brief knowledge of PPC and SEO and would be committed to learning more.
• Developed a sound understanding of an extensive accounting software system in Schlumberger
called Lawson.
• Experience of problem solving and using initiative during work experience and extensive travel.
• House captain at high school, which included motivating and encouraging others.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE .

Jan 2008- Aug 2008 Schlumberger, Westhill


Management Accountant, Well Services. (University Placement)
Preparation of monthly/quarterly reporting tasks for my assigned business unit. This
includes the monthly P&L with variance commentary, Balance Sheet preparation with
relevant back-up, revenue recognition reviews and inventory counts/ reconciliations.
Ensure all internal and external financial procedures and work with operations to ensure all
reporting deadlines are adhered to.

Aug 2007- Dec 2007 Schlumberger, Westhill


Accounts Payable Assistant. (University Placement)
Processing invoices in the accounts payable department. Identifying which invoices the
daily collections related to in accounts receivable. Processing the payments on a daily
basis. Reconciling the bank accounts at month end. Raising inter-company invoices.
Assisting the Management Accountants with the ‘received not invoiced’ section.

Duties include managing a team of waiters in one of the best restaurants in the UK, the
organization of staff rota’s, training existing and new staff to a high level and ensuring the
smooth running of service in which customers expectations are met and exceeded.

Duties included the training of new staff in all areas of food and beverage and
communicating between different departments towards a common goal, leading a team of

I began working as a kitchen assistant and gradually overtime worked my way up to the
position of 2nd Chef. My duties included using numeric skills to work to a budget, working
with a kitchen team of up to 8 and creating new menus, among other tasks.

Duties included assisting in the operations of the business.

TRAVEL EXPERIENCE .
Throughout my time backpacking around the world I bettered myself through sheer necessity in
many areas such as negotiation, adaptability, budgeting, planning, self reliance and independence.

ACHIEVEMENTS .

• While working at Schlumberger I completed a health and safety course incorporating the work
environment and a driving course.
• Selected to represent The Robert Gordon University at 3 entrepreneurial conferences in China,
France and Glasgow.
• Completion of a Business Skills course ran by Business Enterprise Scotland.
• I created a new 17 page whisky menu from scratch while working at Meldrum House Hotel.
• I have completed over 100 hours volunteering and charity work for The Robert Gordon University
• Full clean driving licence and passport, willing to travel if the job requires it.
