controller based on TC200 / 210
technology and experience since 1990.
The reference list includes applications
for all types of conventional hydro turbines

Processing
TC100 turbine controller is based upon a standard
industrial PC with 5x86 type CPU or higher. The program
structure gives critical control loops priority which will be
processed every 10 milliseconds

Operator Interface
The standard TC100 includes a facia mounted
service panel for local operator interface.
From the service panel an operator can control the
governor in the manual mode and access features such
as the system alarms.

A Complete Turbine Controller


TC100 is a complete controller which
incorporates many features. It may be
adopted to all types of hydro turbines,
making it just as suitable for upgrading of
existing plants as it is for new plants. Its
main features as a turbine governor
are:

Plug-in Modules

TC100 Turbine Controller is designed and


manufactured by GE Hydro, using only
industrial-grade components. Software and
hardware are extensively tested before delivery,
assuring both initial and long-term reliability

The TC100 turbine controller uses standard plug-in


modules for the IPC. This provide maximum
flexibility of I/O and computation. Standard I/Ointerface available are:
4-20 mA analogue inputs and outputs
Digital inputs and outputs

Communication

Namur pick-up or AC frequency input

TC100 basic application has conventional I/O


electrical or serial port interface. All external
communication except servo loops and frequency
measurement, is performed by the PLC. A range of
standard serial communications protocols are available,
enabling the TC100 to be integrated with most types of
station control and SCADA systems. Connection can
be by RS 232, 422 or 485.

LVDT position input


Remote Online Performance Monitoring
A remote communication option is available to
allow the TC100 to be monitored by a specialist
located at a different site via a standard telephone
line. The remote specialist can provide instant
support for troubleshooting.
