Land & Building Dept. has two broad wings i.e Land & PWD. Land wing is responsible for the large
scale acquisition of land for the DDA (plan development) and other Govt. Deptts./Agencies for
undertaking various development projects. The PWD wing is responsible for planning, designing,
construction and maintenance of roads, sub-ways, bridges and flyovers on PWD roads and also
construction of office accommodation for the Departments of Govt. of Delhi as well as
quarters/flats for the Govt. employees. The major activities in brief of these two wings are as
under :-

The application, duly filled, alongwith the documents is processed and is referred to LAC/SDM
concerned for verification. There is a Recommendation Committee constituted for allotment of
alternative plot headed by Secretary (L&B) who decides these cases and then the cases are
recommended to DDA for allotment of alternative plot.
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
Works on continuing Schemes and new schemes are being executed by the Department under
Transport, Housing and Public Works Sectors. Besides, PWD engineers have been deployed to
undertake inspection of buildings of other Dept. of Govt. of NCT of delhi, such as education,
technical education, medical, police. social welfare, judicial, jail etc. Delhi PWD is divided into four
zones, each headed by the Chief Engineer. The works of the zones is coordinated by Engineeringin-chief. PWD has a separate Citizens Charter.

REDRESSAL OF PUBLIC GRIEVANCE.
All the complaints received from the complainants are being disposed off within 30 days. For the
above purpose, a separate counter under the Delhi Right to Information Acts has been set-up in
the office premises of Land & Building Department. This counter of L&B Deptt. is located at the
ground floor of B Block, Vikas Bhawan, I.P. Estate, New Delhi. Besides this, Secretary (L&B), Joint
Secretary (L&B) and Competent Authorities (DRI) are also available for public hearing from 12.00
Noon to 1.00 P.M daily.

Ans: After verifying the scroll/ ledger account, the principal & interest due up to date, is pre
immediately. After that, the loanee can obtain the challan and deposit the amoun

Q5: Can I get back original documents submitted as surety against loan?
Ans: All the documents shall be handed over or sent by registered post only after cle
all dues (principal & interest) after satisfying the conditions given below:

Q6: From which office/ authority can I get the Indemnity Bond registered/ Reconveyance deed?
Ans: This can be registered with the Sub-Registrars office pertaining to your area.
Q8: I have no idea of my permanent A/c No. or any records. Kindly tell the status of my case.
Ans: This will have to be searched manually in all the records which may take some time.
Q9: I need no objection certificate, to submit to DDA to get my property converted to freehold.
Ans: If the loanee is not defaulter and regularly paying installments, the NOC may be issued.
Q10:Can I know status of my case over telephone?
Ans: Yes indeed, if correct A/C no. and other details are immediately provided.
