Medjur classes/UP Law 2016

Basis for grades:


30% recitation (30% oral & 70% quizzes)
35% mid-term
35% finals
Mechanics for the quizzes:
1. Bring a bluebook. This will be used every quiz as well as the mid-terms and
final exams.
2. Write only your student number on the cover page of the bluebook.
3. For each module quiz, use only one page. First page will be for Module 1, the
second page (back of the first page) will be for Module 2.
4. For each module quiz, place the date of the quiz on the upper right hand
corner of the page in this format: day/full name of month/2016 (e.g., 23
January 2016)
5. Below the date, write, Score:______
6. On the lower right hand corner of each page, write, Corrected by: (signature)
and the full name of the one who corrected the quiz
7. The quizzes shall be given every first 7 minutes of the session (1-11 questions)
and corrected on the next 5 minutes.
8. Questions shall not be repeated and overhead photos shall no longer be
projected again.
9. Corrections are not allowed so you may bring a pencil or eraser and finalise
your answer with a pen before the time is up.
10.There shall be one bonus question for every quiz.
11.All the bluebooks shall be collected every end of the module for recording
purposes.
12.Quizzes shall be computed in this manner:
14 modules

140 perfect score + 14 bonus score

If your total raw score is 90 and you have a bonus score of 7:


(90/140)100+7= 71.28
look for the grade equivalent of 71.28 in the table below: (2.5)

70% of 2.5 shall be combined with 30% of the highest grade you get in your oral
recitation.

Individual or group projects (optional):


1. Option to increase grades for a maximum of 0.25 to the computed final grades
upon submission of a very good project.
2. Choices of project may be any of the following: (subject to approval)
proposed bill (may be group of 2-6 depending on the bill) - pattern it to
format of house/senate bills. References should follow proper citations. The
proposal shall include the reason for the bill; national statistics relating to the
proposed bill; comparative laws on the proposed bill in other countries
proposed amendment/s of existing laws relating to medjur. References
should follow proper citations. The proposal shall include the reason for the
amendment/s; national statistics relating to the amendments; comparative
laws on the proposed amendments in other countries (1-4 persons)

exhaustive review of cases on a medjur topic with analysis and critique on


the decisions (1-4 persons)
fresh statistical data from local government agencies relating to a medjur
topic with analysis; compare stat data with other countries (1-4 persons)
for the right-brained: other creative topics in relation to any medjur topic
are welcome (to be performed on the last day of classes)
monologues
one or two-act plays on a medjur topic (4-15 persons)
song (1-3 persons)
prose 1-2 persons
3. Submission of project proposals on or before one month before the date of the
week scheduled for the final exams.
4. Submission of completed manuscripts and literary pieces of projects shall be
one week before the last day of classes (pages, Word or pdf formats)
