Psalm 16
Psalm 32
Psalm 41
1 Blessed is the one who considers the poor! In the day of trouble YHVH
delivers him;
2 YHVH protects him and keeps him alive; he is called blessed in the land;
you do not give him up to the will of his enemies.
3 YHVH sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full
health.
4 As for me, I said, O YHVH, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned
against you!
5 My enemies say of me in malice, When will he die, and his name perish?
6 And when one comes to see me, he utters empty words, while his heart
gathers iniquity; when he goes out, he tells it abroad.
7 All who hate me whisper together about me; they imagine the worst for
me.
8 They say, A deadly thing is poured out on him; he will not rise again from
where he lies.
9 Even my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted his
heel against me.
10 But you, YHVH, be gracious to me, and raise me up, that I may repay
them!
11 By this I know that you delight in me: my enemy will not shout in
triumph over me.
12 But you have upheld me because of my integrity, and set me in your
presence forever.
13 Blessed be YHVH, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting!
Amen and Amen.
Psalm 42
1 As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear
before God?]
3 My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the
day long, Where is your God?
4 These things I remember, as I pour out my soul: how I would go with the
throng and lead them in procession to the house of God with glad shouts
and songs of praise, a multitude keeping festival.
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation 6 and my God.
6 My soul is cast down within me; therefore I remember you from the land
of Jordan and of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.
7 Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and
your waves have gone over me.
8 By day YHVH commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with
me, a prayer to the God of my life.
9 I say to God, my rock: Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go
mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
10 As with a deadly wound in my bones, my adversaries taunt me, while
they say to me all the day long, Where is your God?
11 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within
me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.
Psalm 59
4
for no fault of mine, they run and make ready. Awake, come to meet me,
and see!
5
You YHVH, God of hosts, are God of Israel. Rouse yourself to punish all
the nations; spare none of those who treacherously plot evil. Selah
6 Each evening they come back, howling like dogs and prowling about the
city.
7 There they are, bellowing with their mouths with swords in their lipsfor
Who, they think, will hear us?
8 But you, YHVH, laugh at them; you hold all the nations in derision.
9 O my Strength, I will watch for you, for you, O God, are my fortress.
10 My God in his steadfast love will meet me; God will let me look in
triumph on my enemies.
11 Kill them not, lest my people forget; make them totter by your power and
bring them down,
O Lord, our shield!
12 For the sin of their mouths, the words of their lips, let them be trapped
in their pride. For the cursing and lies that they utter,
13 consume them in wrath; consume them till they are no more, that they
may know that God rules over Jacob to the ends of the earth. Selah
14 Each evening they come back, howling like dogs and prowling about the
city.
15 They wander about for food and growl if they do not get their fill.
16 But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in
the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of
my distress.
17 O my Strength, I will sing praises to you, for you, O God, are my fortress,
the God who shows me steadfast love.
Psalm 77
8 Has his steadfast love forever ceased? Are his promises at an end for all
time?
9 Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he in anger shut up his
compassion? Selah
10 Then I said, I will appeal to this, to the years of the right hand of the
Most High.
11 I will remember the deeds of YHVH; yes, I will remember your wonders
of old.
12 I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds.
13 Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God?
14 You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might
among the peoples.
15 You with your arm redeemed your people, the children of Jacob and
Joseph. Selah
16 When the waters saw you, O God, when the waters saw you, they were
afraid; indeed, the deep trembled.
17 The clouds poured out water; the skies gave forth thunder; your arrows
flashed on every side.
18 The crash of your thunder was in the whirlwind; your lightnings lighted
up the world; the earth trembled and shook.
19 Your way was through the sea, your path through the great waters; yet
your footprints were unseen.
20 You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
1 Oh give thanks to YHVH; call upon his name; make known his deeds
among the peoples!
2 Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!
3 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek YHVH rejoice!
4 Seek YHVH and his strength; seek his presence continually!
5 Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the
judgments he uttered,
6 O offspring of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones!
7 He is YHVH our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
8 He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a
thousand generations,
9 the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac,
10 which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting
covenant,
11 saying, To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an
inheritance.

When they were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it,
wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people,
he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account,
saying, Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!

When he summoned a famine on the land and broke all supply of bread,
he had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
His feet were hurt with fetters; his neck was put in a collar of iron;
until what he had said came to pass, the word of YHVH tested him.
The king sent and released him; the ruler of the peoples set him free;
he made him lord of his house and ruler of all his possessions,
to bind his princes at his pleasure and to teach his elders wisdom.
1 Praise YHVH! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty
heavens!
2 Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent
greatness!

Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise YHVH! Praise YHVH!
