PT Megasari Makmur (Godrej Indonesia) ramps up presence

with new headquarters, in line with exciting growth prospects

Jakarta: PT Megasari Makmur (Godrej Indonesia), one of the
fastest growing consumer goods companies in the country,
has inaugurated a new headquarters in Halim
Perdanakusuma, Jakarta. This is in line with the companys
growth objectives and the exciting prospects that they see
for their business in Indonesia. Going ahead, Indonesia will
become the hub for the companys ASEAN operations.
Furnished with the latest state-of-the-art technology and
employee- friendly facilities, the new headquarters, which
will house 250 employees, marks a new chapter of the
companys presence in Indonesia. It offers on-campus
childcare facilities for young working mothers and
collaborative working spaces to foster teamwork and
encourage creative thinking.
PT Megasari Makmur (Godrej Indonesia) is a leading player
in household insecticides (Hit), air fresheners (Stella) and
wet tissues (Mitu) in Indonesia. It is the largest international
business unit of Godrej Consumer Products, a leading home
and personal care company in India. PT Megasari Makmur
and affiliates (Godrej Indonesia Group) is expected to reach
a turnover of IDR 3 trillion for the current fiscal year.
With a fast growing middle class and rising per capita
income, Indonesia offers a very attractive investment
opportunity for Indian companies. Companies such as
Godrej Consumer Products have invested over USD 15
billion in Indonesia in the past, and are poised to invest
another USD 16 billion over the next decade, as trade and

investment flows between the two Asian nations continue to


grow.

(personal care, hair care and home care) in three
geographies (Asia, Africa and Latin America). Godrej

We have a strong proven track record of performance;
growing by 23 per cent CAGR over the last 4 years, he
added. We see significant opportunities for driving growth
and competitive advantage in Indonesia today and in the
future. We will remain committed to strengthening our
brands and bringing more new, world-class products to our
consumers in the Indonesian market. Going ahead,
Indonesia will also become the hub for our ASEAN
presence.
Innovation is key
With market leading products like the Hit Magic mosquito

repellent paper, PT Megasari Makmur (Godrej Indonesia) is


investing heavily in innovation.
Innovation is a key growth driver of our strategy. We are
doing a lot of experimentation and employing design-driven
thinking to come up with better innovations, said Nisaba
Godrej, Executive Director, Godrej Consumer Products
Limited.
Our Indonesia team is playing a key role in building our
innovation pipeline for the future. We have leveraged our
learning from India in developing innovations in Indonesia,
like the Hit Magic paper mosquito repellent and Stella air
care technology. Our Indonesia team is also working closely
with our research and development, design and supply chain
centres of excellence in India, to share knowledge and
technology.
She said that the company is committed to building a strong
employer brand in Indonesia. Last year, we launched our inhouse graduate development programme, Bintang Godrej
Indonesia, to build a world-class talent pool for our Indonesia
business. We will continue to focus on driving strong
leadership development and engagement initiatives for our
people.
She added that the new office reinforces this focus, saying,

need to continue winning in the future.
Future growth
The success that PT Megasari Makmur (Godrej Indonesia)
has achieved over the past four years has inspired the

have done a lot of good work over the last four years to
strengthen our brands in Indonesia. Today, we are proud to
be a leading player in household insecticides, air fresheners,
baby wipes and baby care.
In the last four years, we have invested nearly USD 100
million in building new state-of-the-art facilities in Indonesia
to produce world-class products at affordable prices to serve
our consumers. We have recently set up a new 30,000
square metre factory in Gunung Putri to produce our Hit and
Mitu ranges.
We are very proud of our over 5,000 team members, who
are working hard to realise our aim of bringing superior
quality products to the emerging middle class in Indonesia.
