CALL FOR THE ARIZONA REPUBLICAN STATE CONVENTION

AND
ARIZONA CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT CONVENTIONS OF 2016
TO THE REPUBLICAN VOTERS OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA:
Pursuant to a call issued by the Republican National Committee to the Republican voters of the
United States, and by the authority of Article VI of the Continuing Bylaws of the State Committee
of the Republican Party of Arizona, the State Committee of the Republican Party of Arizona
does hereby call a Republican State Convention and Congressional District Conventions for
Congressional Districts: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight and Nine to meet at
9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30th, 2016, at the Mesa Convention Center, 263 N. Center Street,
Mesa, Arizona.
The purpose of the respective Congressional District Conventions is to elect three delegates
and three alternate delegates from each of the nine Congressional Districts of Arizona, and the
purpose of the State Convention is to elect twenty-eight delegates and twenty-eight alternate
delegates to the Republican National Convention to be held in Cleveland, Ohio no earlier than
9:00 a.m. and no later than 7:00 p.m., Central Daylight Savings Time, on Monday, July 18th,
2016; to nominate a National Committeeman and National Committeewoman; and for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before said State Convention.

SAID STATE CONVENTION SHALL CONSIST OF:


(A)

DELEGATES
There shall be one delegate from each county in the State of Arizona for each
1,000 Republican voters, or major fraction thereof as of December 31, 2015. A
delegate must be a resident of the State of Arizona, a qualified elector and a
registered Republican.

(B)

ALTERNATE DELEGATES
There shall be one alternate delegate for each delegate to the State Convention.
Alternate delegates must conform to the same qualifications as delegates.

CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT CONVENTIONS SHALL CONSIST OF:


(A)

DELEGATES
The delegates to each Congressional District Convention shall be those
delegates to the State Convention who are residents and qualified electors of the
Congressional District.

(B)

ALTERNATE DELEGATES
The alternate delegates to each Congressional District Convention shall be those
alternate delegates to the State Convention who are residents and qualified
electors of the Congressional District.

METHODS OF VOTING
Each delegate to each convention shall be entitled to one vote. There shall be NO PROXY voting. Upon any convention roll call, when any delegate is absent or fails to vote, the roll of alternate delegates shall be called in the order in which certified to the county or legislative district
shall be cast, and any alternate delegate whose name is so called shall be entitled to vote.
