GPA and Related Procedures


Credit is awarded on a per-semester basis at the
end of December and June.
GPA is computed each semester and cumulatively
at end of grades 9, 10, 11 and 12.
Two GPAs are identified on the transcript.

GPA is based on the following schedule:
A=4(90-100) B=3(80-89) C=2(70-79)

Due to budgetary constraints, FUHSD
students are generally limited to one
course per subject area per year and only
guaranteed up to 6 classes per year.
Open access to all Honors and AP
classes.
Advanced and Honors courses are not
given additional point values, but are
noted by the course title.
Individual class rank is not reported or
calculated.

Lynbrook is a comprehensive, 4-year, suburban public school on a modified


block schedule, offering a well-rounded educational program to students
from the northwest corner of San Jose and the northern portion of
Saratoga. Located in the Silicon Valley, the school serves many students
whose parents are employed by high-tech companies. Its vision is to
create a dynamic environment of respect and achievement where all can
learn deeply, apply their knowledge and contribute purposefully.
