Studies

The economic and technological developments in the computer industry as well as in the telecommunication sector are
shaped by an increasing interconnection of hardware and
software solutions and the networking of dierent systems.

The Masters program is organized in cooperation with the Department of Computer Science at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences at St. Augustin. A variety of modules are oered in
English. The Masters program in Communication Systems and
Networks is highly application-oriented and is scheduled for three
semesters including the Masters thesis. The nal degree is the
Master of Science.

The Masters program

The Masters program in Communication Systems and Networks oers students the opportunity to grasp and shape the
complex relations of modern communication systems and
services and their future demands.
A particularity of the program is the holistic view of broadcasting systems from system level to network level.
The Master students can choose between four dierent study
proles focusing on Communication Systems, Communication
Networks, IT Security and Theory of Information, depending on
their interests in one of these elds of knowledge and their
competencies.

Job proles and elds of activities

Project scheduling, development and customized solutions for
new systems in the communication technology and networks just to mention some important elds of activities. The strong
market for services in the communication and information
technology eld is expanding in almost all industries, oering
you manifold opportunities.
Besides big players in the mobile communications and telecommunication sector, potential employers include manufacturers and suppliers of broadcasting devices and installations,
network providers, radio and TV stations as well as manufacturers of consumer electronics, equipment manufacturers, the
automobile industry and suppliers.
Graduates also have career opportunities as scientic assistants in science and the public sector and at research institutions enabling graduates to pursue a PhD.
