1. What are we testing?

If navigation between screens works as intended

If the User intuitively understands how he/she would perform a certain function
within the application.
If it is easy to order a container
If it is easy to contact the office through the FAQ/Contact page
If the User can access the tracking map from the confirmation page
If the User can login from the springboard

2. Test goals
2.1 Learn how the User thinks when using the application

I would like to know how our customers respond with a new method of interaction with
the company.

I would like to see how the customer intuitively navigates the application without
thorough instruction.

The User will test the application prototype through a web interface made to simulate
an iPhone app. For all intents and purposes, this will function the same way as the
mobile application would with the ease of accessing it through a link on a web browser.

2.2 The goal of this test is to:

Will the User understand how navigate the application?

Will the User understand how to order a container?

Will the User understand how to check the delivery time from the order confirmation
page?

Will the User understand how to contact the office from the Contact/FAQ page?

Is the navigation clear and understandable?

4. User test structure

4 parts:

Before the test, the User will fill out consent form and questionnaire.
User will complete task 1 (designed to test navigation).
User will complete task 2 (designed to test container order functionality).
After the test, User will answer post-test interview.

Before the test:

Completion time: 5 minutes

The User will complete a demographic questionnaire designed to get basic information
such as age, sex, profession, etc.

Task 1: Navigation and understanding

Completion time: 15 minutes

1.1 Check the history to see the last time youve ordered a container.

1.2 A container has not been ordered in a while, so you want to order a container. The
User should order a 20 yard container to the Jade Ocean job site on 4/16/2016.

If the user needs information regarding what ordering a container entails and the
difference between sizes, etc. I will provide this information to the User.

1.3 The container has been ordered; now you want to check the delivery time, and then
return to the main menu.

Task 1 control points:

o The user can arrive to the main menu.
o The user can check the account history without being told how to.
o The user is able to arrive to the Order container screen from the main menu.
o The user is order to select the type of container, job site, and date.
o The user is able to confirm the order and arrive to the order confirm screen.
o The user can get to the Estimated Arrival Time screen from the order confirm
screen.
o The user is able to bounce back to the main menu from the ETA screen.

Task 2: Contact the office

Completion time: 10 minutes

I will ask the User to contact the office using the RSI app, hang up the call, and return to
the main menu.

Task 2 control points:

o The user can find the Contact/FAQ page.
o The user is able to find the contact office button.
o The user is able to start a phone call to the office.
o The user is able to end the phone call and navigate back to the main menu.

Post test interview

Completion time: 15-20 minutes

After the test, Ill question the User on their experience with the application.

o Rate the application 0 to 4 on the following: ease of use, design, utility,
functionality, structure, and navigation.
o What did the user not like about the application?
o What did the user like about the application?
o What improvements could be made?
o What (if anything) would have been more helpful in completion tasks 1 and 2?
Why?

5. Feedback

o Questionnaire

o Tasks: think out each task, use control points to evaluate.
o Post test interview: Fill out the questionnaire, take notes, evaluate answers.
