ABSTRACT
QR code is relative of UPC code (Matrix barcode), in 1952, its
first patent was issued by Joseph Woodland and Bernard Silver.
The Quick Response Code system has been praised for the fast
readability and greater storage capacity compared to standard
UPC barcodes. This paper is to take estimation of QR codes
basics, its adaptive application in day to day work life and
research areas associated. With the technology of mobile
phones becoming prominent, especially where mobile internet
access, QR codes seem to be a competent tool to quickly and
efficiently counter URLs to users. This also allows offline
resources such as magazines, newspapers, business cards,
public transport vehicles, signs, t-shirts and any other
intermediate that can grasp the print of a QR code to be used as
carriers for promotion for online products. QR code being so
resourceful because of its structural flexibility that it leads to so
many distinct field for research like increasing data capacity,
security applications such as different kinds of watermarking as
well as steganography. It also includes scratch removal
techniques for better recognition of QR codes. Thus, this paper
is an attempt to feature some of achievable research areas while
considering QR codes.

INTRODUCTION
A barcode is an optical machine-readable instance of data
relating to the object to which it is devoted. Recently barcodes
represented data by varying the widths and spacing of parallel
lines, and can be referred to as linear or one-dimensional
matrices. Later they emerged into rectangles, hexagons, dots
and other geometric patterns in two dimensions. QR code
means Quick Response Code, that is the trademark for the type
of matrix barcode which was invented by Joseph Woodland and
Bernard Silver. QR code has a number of qualities such as
Holds immense amount of data compared to standard UPC
code, Easily scanned by several commercial and consumer
devices, structural flexibility of application and 360 degree
reading.
UNDERSTANDING QR CODE:
QR codes have already beaten the demand of classical barcode
in many areas because of several pros like increment in storage,
reduced size, etc.
The general purposes of developing QR codes are
Organization
Information
Advertisement
In organization, they need to provide the information of
manufacturing, their batch number, their expiry etc. as a label
on their products.
In information, it provides quick access to myriads of
information within seconds and embedding millions of
information in a small square easily,
In advertisement, its a marketing scheme for businesses to
appear tech savvy and to look more technically more advanced
from other companies in the market.
6 components to a QR Code:
Position Markers: 3 Large squares, locates
edge of code for scanners.
Alignment marker:
point.
ADVANTAGES:
EDUCATION:
1.
2.
3.
Teachers:
The first use is their syllabus and any other documents
that students requires to get the information about new
events and programs.
The second use is a classroom calendar describing
their holidays, class tests and handouts, linking all
them with an QR code.
The third use is providing assignments for the week,
teachers can update students with the weekly schedule
by QR code that can make students access to website
with the assignments for each week.
4.
Students:
1. The first use is to submit a link to their presentation to
teachers by making a QR code.
2. The second use is students can use a QR code to organize
and list all of their sources for documentation or presentation to
provide an easy way for people to find the required
information.
3. The third use students can rectify their answers. An added
QR code to the end of assignments, allows students to check
their answers.
4. The fourth use students can share information by QR code
with their friends to get answers to their questions in room
with hundreds of students, asking for answers may be a bit
overwhelming, but with a QR code, all the students in the room
can submit answers at a time, and the teacher can choose
unique answers in the lecture immediately.
JOB SEARCH:
QR codes can be used in the job search. An
interviewee can put their resume whether video or
print.
PERSONAL DETAILS:
They can put it on their business card.
Another use for QR codes is in print ads, and a name
tag for quick access to contact information.
