Extension Revisit Committee Recommendation:
It is the opinion of the Extension Revisit Committee that Bandung Adventist Academy
has made sufficient progress towards the fulfilment of recommendations of the previous
full-scale visiting committee and continues to have a quality academic program that a
two-year extension of accreditation can justifiably be recommended according to the
Southern Asia Pacific Division Terms of Accreditation provisions until December 31,
201x.

A total of thirty-nine (39) recommendations were listed by the Visiting Committee of
December6-9, 2012. The following are the schools responses and the Interim Review

That the faculty continue to keep in mind and comprehend the mission statement, philosophy,

That the board and administration institute adequate measures to reduce accounts receivable
and institute prompt means for collections of all fees and dues. Records show that at the end of
December 2011, the students account receivable is Rp. 297,910,237. As far as possible, the students
accounts be kept current, without permitting them to accumulate large amounts of debt (Interview;

CRITERION VI: QUALITY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM


1) Recommendation
That the administration develop a comprehensive program for teachers professional growth and
upgrading, reflecting this in the schools overall strategic plan (Interview).

There is one year academic program for the school based on governments standard and
expectations but there is no documented comprehensive program for teachers professional
growth and upgrading.
2) Recommendation
That the administration and teaching faculty further integrate English-speaking activities in the
school program to promote better usage of the English language and mastery among both the
students and teachers.

The administration, faculty & staff identified English speaking zone in the campus where
students are required to speak English in making transactions.

That the administration assign certain days as English speaking days or English program as a

That the faculty improve their lesson plans and consider the following suggestions: reflect the
Integration of Faith and Learning in the objectives and lesson development itself, provide
activities that will show specific lesson development and describe them briefly and clearly, and
the sequence of the major parts of lesson plan must be followed (Documents; Interview).

reflection of values/faith and learning in the objectives and lesson development, following
the right format and sequencing in lesson planning.

That the administration and faculty take into serious consideration various teaching
strategies to
enhance students interest in all subject matter taught (Interview).

There is a need for some teachers to use varied activities and make use of technology in
the
lesson presentation to encourage students active participation in the class discussion and
enhance an atmosphere conducive for learning.
6) Recommendation
That the Board, the administration and faculty upgrade instructional and learning resources
(science laboratory, library, books) for all students to meet the needs of the learning (Self-Study
Report; interview).

More updated books are needed to be added in the library. The school has to procure
computer units to be housed in the new computer laboratory room for students to have
hands-on-experience.
7) Recommendation
That the administration continue to provide training to teachers to stimulate higher level thinking,
practical class work, and questioning techniques (Interview; Documents).

The government, Union/Conference education department and the school are providing
seminars/workshops and also upgrading program for teachers.

The Visiting Committee recommends:
1. That the administration and faculty craft a five-year strategic plan for academic development
to ensure quality teaching and learning environment (Interview; Documents).
2. That the board and administration find ways and means to allocate a budget for every
department giving proper and clear dissemination to every head for smooth and efficient
implementation of programs and activities (Interview; Documents).
3. That the administration continue to conduct evaluation of teachers performance and
supervisory visits twice a year using standardized evaluation instruments giving post
conference and furnish them with a copy of the result signed by both teacher and supervisor
and kept in the teachers personal file for guidance and transparency. Further recommended
to involve students in evaluating teachers to get reliable output (Interview; Documents).
4. That the administration, faculty and staff endeavor to use English language as medium of
communication in teaching major subjects as much as possible such as: Science, Mathematics and
Bible. Further recommended to put up speech laboratory room furnished with equipment that will
enhance the language skills of students especially in oral English which will serve as a remarkable
identity of the school that will lead to the increase of enrolment (Interview; Observation).

5. That the faculty use multiple approaches, well-planned activities, challenging tasks, group discussions
and web resources to create greater impact on the learning process of students (Interview)

6. That the administration, and some teachers employ redemptive classroom discipline and treat the
students with concern, care and respect to build up their self-esteem and develop a good teachinglearning atmosphere (Interview).

PHYSICAL PLANT AND SAFETY
1)

Recommendation
That the board and administration consider to provide sports facilities that do not require big
space such as table tennis, in view of the schools space limitation (Interview; Observation).

That the person who is in-charge in SAS train all the teachers to input the students data in to SAS

The board assigned two (2) personnel who served as registrars in-charge of the school
records who also provide training for teachers to program in the computer students data.

1. That the board and administration find ways and means to install a fire-proof vault to ensure
security and confidentiality of records (Interview; Observation).
2. That the board and administration maintain the computer unit in the registrars office for the
sole use of the registrar to protect and preserve the records and important documents. Further
recommended to purchase steel cabinets to replace the wooden cabinets for (Interview;

3. That the administration and registrars office furnish Jakarta Local Conference back-up of all
school records to be up-dated annually (Interview).
B. Instructional Media Center (Library)

That the librarian management continue to keep records of the number of students going to the
Library on a day basis, with daily, weekly, and monthly data readily available to determine the
