baskets were not uniquely Palean.

As it has been a long time since these civilizations flourished, but one would think
that the discoveries, when comparing to another village, are more subjective to
what modern archeologists perceive how the people of Pelea and Lithos lived.
In the prehistoric times, the main source of exchange was through the barter
system where one would exchange one essential item to another of equal value.
For example, a basket of apples in exchange for a bag of grain. As the woven
baskets have recently been found in Lithos which raised the question that this
product might not be unique to the culture of Palean alone. It is safe to assume that
Lithos would have been a more advanced village than was Palea. The Lithos would
have mastered the art of crossing the deep river to come to Palea as merchants to
exchange their specialties with grains and fruits of their neighboring village. This
might be one of the reason why the archeologist have found the basket in Lithos.
Through ancient times, it is known that man is a wanderer and keeps on moving
from one place to another. This also weakens the conclusion of the author because
it is possible that some of the Palea people might have wandered through land and
reach Lithos where they settled. Thus the art of making woven basket might have
reached Lithos and sold as Palean Baskets. It is also not mentioned whether it was
popular among the people as the archeologist have discovered only one of its kind
up till now in that village.
Although the author provides evidence that the Brim River is broad and deep, but it
is not certain that the Brim River has always been like this. It is a known fact that,
throughout time, the world has changed geographically. It is highly possible that the
Brim River might not be as deep and broad in the ancient times as it is today. The

river, at that time, could have been very shallow and this provides a certain
scenario that the people of Palea and Lithos might not have any issue crossing the
river as they could have walked through it. Another possible situation can be that
the river might not have existed at the time when these two villages were there. It
is highly possible that the extinction of these villages had been because of a heavy
flood which later turned into the Brim River.
The author has provided some promising evidences to strengthen his conclusion on
the woven basket not being unique to Palea people alone. There are many possible
evidences and assumptions which, if taken into consideration, might give a better
picture and help archeologists to come to a more solid conclusion about our ancient
ancestors.
